While Blair was far ahead, Aella was content falling behind the the rest of the group. She walked along the outskirts, through the grass that twined around her legs, rustling up small creatures and sending them fleeing.
The sun was blazing, a brilliant star bathing the land with a blinding pale yellow glow, dancing across her skin and warming her. Not that she was cold, she didn't get cold unless she was weakened, the fire running through her veins enough to keep her safe against the harshness of winter.
But she was bored. She didn't want to walk alongside the anxious, chattering group that did their best to ignore her. Pretend the crazy girl wasn't there. She knew over the course of two days she had not changed their opinions about her. In exception of the Borealan people and Ciro, who's company she enjoyed.
Of course, she felt sympathy for Kylan and Blair, who were clearly distressed over the disappearance of their family. She never lacked sympathy, though she wasn't really sure how to express it, or what they were feeling. I mean, I would be in trouble if I lost Grayson, but I don't think I'd miss him...no...
But they still treated her oddly, especially Blair. Not like I like werewolves anyway.
So she had to be content herself, trying to figure out how they were even going to do wat they were planning to, and if it was even worth it.
