The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Fred nodded a little shocked, he hadn’t expected Kipp to go after him. “Yeah it counts for something” he said still a little shaken

Kipp frowned at Fred's response, maybe he was still too over tired to have this conversation. It sounded like Fred was still mad at him. It counted for something but not enough?
He wanted to yell at him, but knew that wouldn't help anything. Instead he stepped back away wiping hand over his rain soaked face, in an attempt to keep his emotions under control.

"Why are you so mad at me?"

“Huh? I’m not, just a little surprised at you hugging me. I promise you I’m not mad at you, I’m just in shock” Fred explained giving his friend a smile

Hana had returned to the group when she heard the sudden growth of loud voices in the back of the cave. In particular was Take’s loud voice that easily stood out from the others. She clutched her pack tightly as she investigated the scene. The golden light from the precious metals illuminated on the faces that were obviously not there a couple minutes ago. She was filled with bewilderment at the sight of her group mates and the missing children. How did they get here? What is this..? They all looked bedraggled and filthy, with a built up layer of dirt upon their skin. What bothered her most were the lesions some of them had on their backs, completely bare of covering from any sort of clothing. Of course she would notice Take’s lack of shirt, but those sights were impervious to her. Finally removing herself from being idle, Hana visited each of the starved individuals, offering them either the Borealian native fruits or dried meat from her pack with an expressionless masked face and gesture for them to pick and choose.
Elon, who'd only had wet bread since breakfast eagerly grabbed for a sweet Yugi fruit, a filling and high-energy, if not very flavorful fruit that Borealans brought with them on long journeys. He shoved the sweet, dry fruit in his mouth and chowed down on it, showing more enthusiasm in this activity than he did for anything so far on the cursed journey.

Kipp was silent a moment processing what he said, he'd been preparing himself for Fred telling him how horrible he thought he was. Tears of relief, and disbelief spilled down his cheeks, mixing with the cold rain.

"Then," he took a breath to keep his voice from wavering, "Why are you coming out here alone?" He shook his head not understanding Fred's thought process. "You'd rather be with the we-sa than me?"

“I needed to think, you seemed mad at me and I didn’t want to upset you further so I decided I would go outside and come back when I knew I wasn’t going to say something I would regret” Fred said slowly

"You thought?" he stopped, considering how he'd been yelling at him. Of course he thought I was mad at him. "I'm not. I..." Kipp took a deep breath, and let it out in a quick exhale. He had been avoiding telling anyone what was going on with him, and that had been the start of this whole thing. "We should go back inside, before the wildlife gets us." He muttered, waving his head toward the cave entrance, and starting to walk back. "A few days ago was the one year anniversary of when my mom left. I didn't want to say anything, and ruin everyones fun.... not that it's been particularly fun. But, no one wants to be around someone who's a downer all the time. So I didn't want to talk about it. Anyway, I'm sorry I was such a jerk."

“Oh, I’m so sorry Kipp. I didn’t know, it’s fine. I was being a bit snappy too and triggering you, I’m sorry too” Fred said following Kipp inside the cave

After healing Fred, exhaustion tugged Kevin down like a weight. It had been a while since he had to heal that many creatures in the span of an hour. His chickens were one thing, and Tru took a decent chunk out of his energy, but with a human added to the list, he felt dizzy, with an excruciating headache added to the mix.
Kevin reached up, wiping the sweat off of his forehead as he closed his eyes and sank into a crouch. He knew he should’ve been more careful with his energy, but when he healed his birds he hadn’t expected to need to heal more people.
More people.
Kevin looked up, his eyes straining to see everyone from the shadows of the cave. He made out at least three other children, although he knew there were probably more, all of whom had the same slashes across their backs.
Kevin clenched his jaw, taking a deep, shaky breath. Digging through the pack the Corim’s so kindly gave him, he pulled out one of the strange looking fruits and bit into it. It was nothing like one of his homegrown apples, but it had enough sugar to replenish some of his lost energy.

Kevin got to his feet, cautiously walking towards the wounded children. He knelt down, both to keep from scaring the kids, and to steady his weak and shaking legs.
“Hello there,” he murmured, giving a weak smile. “I can help your wounds.”

"I want to go home!"
Blair winced, gritting her teeth against Emma's sharp whine in her ear. Yeah, I know, we all want to go home, kid.
"I know, we will go home soon, though, okay?" She tried to keep the annoyance out of her tone, but she wasn't sure she completely succeeded, because Emma quieted down with a whimper.
In reality, Blair quite honestly did not want to go back home. Despite what they had gone through in the short amount of time, going home meant leaving the group. Going home meant leaving Take.
And she really did not want to do that.
Speaking of Take, she could tell he was telling some great story or another by his wild gestures and the bits and pieces she picked up, but couldn't fully hear him over the other loud chatter in the cave.
She would have gone over to him and Kit, who was circling his legs, apparently enjoying whatever he was talking about even if she couldn't understand, but there was too much noise. Not just the talking but the storm pounding outside.
She retreated to the back of the cave, where it was quieter, shifting Emma to her other hip.
