The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

"I felt it." Lilith's statement seemed so sure, but after a second a light pink lit up her cheeks, standing out against her pale skin. He doesn't know your powers, stupid. "I can feel what other people are feeling and about to do, and for a second... It was like I was seeing through someone else's eyes, watching us." She shook her head, glancing around wearily, sure there was a flicker of movement in the bushes. "We better find those boys soon." She murmured, hardly noticing as she brushed against a bush, it's sharp thorns drawing the slightest bit of blood. This place is getting really tight.

Kevin’s eyes widened slightly. “That’s kind of creepy. Er, being watched, not your powers. No, your powers are cool.” He said, looking around.
His squeezed between two trees, sucking in a breath. He heard a strange rumbling noise and looked behind him, stopping as he watched the trees separate, creating a bigger path. He adjusted his grip on the gun, waiting for something to attack. That is, until he heard someone named Cam do it.
He turned back around, jogging after Lilith. “How many kids? Did you catch what they looked like, or what their names are?”

Ciro ran his fingers through his hair, shaking his head at the awing craziness of it all but never losing his grin. At this rate, he figured his family wouldn't be enjoying their food hot, or maybe even at all, but he'd sure have a story to regale his little sisters with. "Ciro, from Tepito, Mexico City." He offered his free hand -the comparatively indurated one- to Cam and made sure to give a broad smile to Ellie. "Is it...oh, perdón my ignorance, but is it, uh, just a force you use or...an actual sort of communication between you and the plantas?
“Mexico City? That’s so cool!” Cam shook his hands warmly. “I talk to the plants, kind of. If they know what I am asking they will follow my directions better.” That was her simplified explanation. She didn’t want to complicate it, due to the language barrier.
“What’s Mexico City like?” She couldn’t help but be curious. His life had to be so different from her own. Probably harder. His clothes looked secondhand, judging by their condition.
Kipp paled at her answer, he was trying to joke around, and failed miserably.

"O-Oh." He turned his attention away from the ground and stared anxiously off into the forest. Why? Movement in the distance caught his attention, he couldn't make out what it was, but it didn't seem to move much like an animal, and they were supposed to be looking for the missing kids. Maybe it was Noah, or one of the other missing kids. There was also the possibility it could have been someone from his class.
"Guys, is there a reason we're not calling for the missing kids?" He asked raising his voice loud enough for at least most of the group to hear.
“Ummm...” Cam said. It would feel weird to interrupt her conversation with Ciro to scream ‘Noah!’ once and a while. “I suppose I should be looking for him,” she said apologetically. Though she didn’t particularly want to look into the flickering tails and glowering eyes.

Name: Carson

Age: 23 years

Gender: Male

Physical description and abilities: Carson has green eyes with small flecks of gold on the edges of his irises. His hair is short and dark. His skin is tan and lean muscles can be spotted in his arms, legs, back, and stomach. He mainly wears navy jeans with a light blue t-shirt. He always has a ring on his middle finger with the design of a wolf on it. The ring helps him control his ability to talk to and understand animals. Without it, the animals crowd his mind to the point he can’t function due to them being so loud and overwhelming. When someone touches his ring, he becomes defensive and angry and will most likely attack without hesitation, using his skill with a dagger that he keeps on his black belt.

Personality: Carson has a sharp tongue and keeps a cool head in the heat of battle. Though he may appear tough and unwelcoming on the outside, he’s really just a big softie. He doesn’t trust easily, but once you’ve earned his trust, he will never betray you or leave you behind. He’ll risk his life for his friends without fear or hesitation. As long as they’re safe, he’s happy. If you’ve got a problem with him he’s most likely to just ignore you unless you insult his pet cougar he calls Buck or his friends. Rest TBRP

Other: Carson received the cougar ‘Buck’ because he works as a zookeeper and it is his responsibility to take care of him. After some years of saving up, doing odd jobs, etc., he has saved up enough to buy Buck from the zoo he worked at, though he pays monthly for keeping him in the enclosure. Sometimes, after the zoo is closed, him and Buck walk along the deserted pathways together and talk. Their bond is unbreakable and it has been since the day they saw each other, 5 years ago. Carson continues to save up funds in order to build a proper enclosure for Buck on his own land.

"Increíble. I'll look forward to watching you in action more." His keen smile drew closed with concentration when Cam's attention was drawn away by a boy with notably birdlike features. What would Tepito seem like to an American? "Well, it's home to me. Our tianguis -uh, vendor market- is fantástica," he started slowly. He scuffed his shoeless foot into the soft dirt, contemplating how to put his community's darker side appropriately. "But, from what I've heard, I'm sure it's not America. You've got to watch your step, you know? It can be amenazante, rough, especially at night. Getting home antes del anochecer is prioridad."

Lilith laughed raspily, shrugging. "Both is creepy for me. I don't like being watched, especially not in some dark forest, and knowing how someone feels about you and others... It's scary, in a way. But it does have it's advantages."
She stopped in her tracks as the trees parted with a great tremble, readying her dagger until realizing it had been one of the group that had caused it, before starting to jog again, watching Kevin out of the corner of her eye as he caught up to her. "I think I heard something about there being three of them? There's a boy named Noah and also a girl. The other one is Kylan's brother, Torin. He's gotta be five by now, I only saw him as a baby, but I assume he looks like a little Kyl."

“Texas,” he responded. The uneasy feeling which had been gathering up inside him was steadily becoming stronger as the light continued to fade. His brain began contemplating what would be the smartest thing for them to do as the darkness continued to consume more and more of the landscape around them.
Content to continue in silence, Juliana simply nodded as she continued walking. The terrain was slowly changing, they were now headed up a very gradual incline. The spongy composting ground cover tapered away to show the loose gravel and dirt hidden below.

"This place is really cool. Do you think we're still somewhere on Earth?"

Kevin frowned. “Kylan? Is that the boy with the blue... uh... I don’t know the English word,” he used his free hand to gesture around his head, trying to signal bandana. “Your friend?” He said instead, lowering his hand.
As the forest got darker, it was getting more difficult to see. He rolled up his sleeves, holding the gun and the chicken in the same hand. He stretched his free hand out a bit as it started to glow. It wasn’t bright enough to draw too much attention, but it was bright enough to see a few steps in front of them.
”Noah? Torin?” He called, though there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice. He wasn’t sure if calling them would be a good idea, but the sooner they were found the better. He wondered if they were old enough to have been taught about stranger danger. If they were, they would probably be terrified of Kevin.

Lilith nodded. "That's him. And the blue thing in English would be called a bandana." She said, trying to be helpful.
She was grateful when he used his power to shed light on the ground, having started to stumble right before he did so. Torin used to call me Aunt Lili when he first started speaking, my name was one of the first ones he learned. I can't believe I never checked in with them. "Torin? Noah? C'mon boys." She called, nervous to get too loud. Whatever is in the woods might not be the only creature around here, knowing my luck we'll just call over something that wants to kill us.
She glanced over at his hand, watching the green light for a moment before turning her head away and looking back towards the woods. She hadn't really paid attention when he showed it to Ciro, being rather preoccupied with the idea of Torin missing. "That's cool. Your power. It's gotta come in handy. The only other powered person I've known is Kylan, it's odd, being around so many others." She murmured quietly, giving Tru a small pet on the head for having been so good so far.

“I honestly have no idea,” he said, “but we’re still able to breath normally so I guess that has to mean we are on earth, or if not, someplace that is reasonably similar to it.” Privately, he harbored a strong feeling that this place wasn’t earth, but he didn’t want to freak her out with his misgivings. Still, he couldn’t deny the fact that his powers felt different here, stronger, his senses more on edge than ever. He decided to make an attempt at small talk in the hopes that it would distract him from the tidal wave of suspicions and ideas currently vying for his attention. “Anyway,” he began, “what grade are you in?”

"Grade 12, I don't really go that much though, too many other things to do. What about you?"
