The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Between this world and our own... well, theres a world of differences, Kyle thought. First of all, it looked to be summer here. But the sun had already set, and fast, meaning they were probably timed differently. Maybe the planets were even different sizes... were they even planets?
And that was just the time. Clearly the species were different, trees, creatures of myth, and geologically... well the minerals appeared to be the same so far.
He also hadn’t yet encountered a lake or stream, nothing but flat forest, but he expected that to change soon. They were clearly on an incline. Hopefully there were mountains, enough to prevent ambush by animals... and maybe a human settlement?

I just wasted one of our few supplies on waking up some dumb kid. Stupid. "Yeah, what glowy-fingers said, and please try to be a little more careful of getting us eaten." Lilith murmured, staggering to her feet, green eyes flicking around the shadows quickly.
She could've sworn she saw something with glowing golden eyes flash by, and instinctively gripped her dagger harder until her knuckles turned white. Hardly any of these kids probably know how to defend themselves well. She thought, but was interrupted by a steady growling at her side, only to glance down and notice that Tru had began snarling at the shadows, his hackles raised in fear. "Sh, sh, quiet Tru. It's fine." His growls dropped away, but his posture didn't change. He's gotta be really freaked out to get him growling. Not good.

Kevin shot her an apologetic glance. Had he known Fred would’ve reacted the way he did, he would’ve stayed far away. I’m sorry, he mouthed in her direction, turning to look back at Fred.
He looked down as Tru started growling. So I haven’t been seeing things. Kevin thought.

‘I am a cat,’ Rylie replied, glowering warily at the animal before him. It was admirably large and powerful, but it wasn’t nearly as wild and terrifying as some of the beasts in that forest. ‘Do you or that man come from this place? I do not.’
~
“Who are you?” Kyle asked, calling up from his mount. Hope surfaced in his mind, it could be a native... but it was quickly snuffed out. I’m sure a native wouldn’t be stupid enough to wander outside at night. And he’s wearing non-native clothing. Presumably.
“We don’t know where we are. Do you?”
"No. We don't come from here. We don't even know how we got here." Buck explained, glancing back up at Carson and kneading the ground with his front paws, anxious about being surrounded by a bunch of strange people.

"Oh, I'm Carson, and the cougar is Buck." He said, gesturing to the large animal. "I have no idea where we are either."
Haddoe squawked in surprise as Kipp jumped up, knocking her onto the ground. As she fell, the scent of a predator filled her nose. ****, a cougar. Disgruntled at having being so rudely awakened, Haddie shifted into a cougar mid fall, fell on her back, let out another stream of curses(she normally had an impeccable filter, but not when she was an animal, since Maria couldn't understand and pick up her foul language), rolled over and bolted towards the big cat, butting people on her way aside, gently but firmly. Rylie seemed to be attempting conversation-his body was in a tense defensive position. The housecat was understandably terrified. She stared at the cougar-and the man with him. By their stance, it was clear they trusted each other implicitly. She stared at the big cat. What are your intentions? I may not look like much, but I will destroy you and your friend if you even think about harming one of these humans... or the cat.

Buck's neck fur bristled in surprise at the sudden appearance of another cougar. Carson patted his neck to calm him, then turned to the stranger. Speaking in cougar, he replied "Our intentions are not to harm anyone, I promise. The only reason why we would harm one of you is if we felt threatened or if we were attacked first." He smirked when she mentioned the cat. "As for the cat, Buck has never seen another animal like him, so he was just curious."
"Did you fall through a door?" The ginger rudely shoved Blair out of the way, eyes lighting up as she interrogated the man. Blair looked at the cougar, raising a brow, but didn't say anything, for it just sat there quietly.
"Oh, maybe you got grabbed by aliens? Could have happened, I mean..."
"A-A door?" Carson asked, confused. "I'm not sure. I think I would have noticed..." He trailed off, lost in thought. "Yeah, I think I fell through a door."

Rylie would have normally shown the dog some mistrust, but he accepted his presence easily in the face of more dangerous creatures. He had done a lot of that lately, putting his trust in things. It was very un-feline, and yet he had to do it. His life was at stake.
Rylie glared into the shadows behind the puma. A creature had been stalking him, he was sure of it. He could just make out the tall biped form. He knew that if the big cat hadn’t been there, the man would’ve been gone. Dead. The man who could talk to him.
He knew that the strange creature only took men when they were alone.
So Rylie would have to trust the cat that called himself a ‘mountain lion.’
Farther in the darkness, he could see creatures who feared the light. They danced away from the healing man’s gleaming hands, in limbo between fear and hunger. They must know, like he did, that the people around him were armed and dangerous.

He looked down as Tru started growling. So I haven’t been seeing things. Kevin thought.
Lilith glanced at Kevin right as he mouth the apology, and she shrugged, hoping her words hadn't come off as aggressive towards him. However, she was honestly mad at Fred for putting the entire group in further harm's way.
Tru had begun backing up know, almost as though he had been cornered. She knelt beside him, beginning to rub his ears-- Something that usually calmed him in the past. "Quiet, quiet Tru." She murmured softly, desperate for as little as possible attention to be drawn to the group. Slowly, he calmed, creeping forward and sitting beside her. "Good boy."
She blinked, feeling the nearing creatures' hunger send pangs through her stomach, then being replaced with an unprompted fear of Kevin that they had felt, before her connection with them dissolved into her normal thoughts and emotions.
She rose to her feet, glancing towards the taller man and the boy, before looking around at the shadows. "This place-- It's making my powers stronger."

Blair sighed. Haddie had obviously tried to say something to her, but she couldn't understand a word she said. She looked between the two cougars, and came closer to Haddie. "It's okay, Haddie," she glanced at the man, wondering if he had some sort of control over the cougar. "I think this guy has control over him." She didn't smell any bad intent or anger from either feline or man, mainly confusion.

Haddie raised her eyebrows at the man, but didn't show much more surprise. If you speak truth, I apologize for threatening you. She glanced into the forest. Last time, the forest held strange things, and this time feels no different. We are trying to find a way out. If you stick to your word, you can come with us. She glanced at the cougar, who was obviously uncomfortable around all of the people. You may not like it, but there's strength in numbers. We need more with night vision, if you're willing to help protect them. Some of them are defenceless. She resisted the urge to look at Fred, wincing.

"Thank you. I will be glad to come with you." Carson replied gratefully.

Buck hesitated, then dipped his head. "I will help, but my first loyalty will be to Carson. If I have to make a choice between him or one of your people, I will have to choose him. I hope it doesn't come to that, though."

"Good boy."

Kevin glanced at Lilith. “Er, is that a good thing, or a bad thing?” He asked. He looked down at Tru. He felt bad for the dog, he was obviously freaking out pretty hard.

"Thank you. I will be glad to come with you." Carson replied gratefully.

Buck hesitated, then dipped his head. "I will help, but my first loyalty will be to Carson. If I have to make a choice between him or one of your people, I will have to choose him. I hope it doesn't come to that, though."
Haddie dipped her head at the big cat. I understand. Thank you. She looked up at the man. Can you just talk to cougars, or can you her the other... creatures? She asked.

Take moved himself towards the front of the group, and a little ways ahead from everyone so he didn’t feel so crowded. The incline wasn’t steep, but as he gazed further, they would have to climb the hill completely.
He shot a look at the group that still wasn’t progressing from the appearance of Carson and his cougar.
He turned to face them, his arms crossed, “Let’s get moving already!” he shouted.

"I can talk to and understand any creature, as long as I look at it." He explained. "If I take off my ring, then I can hear creatures that I'm not looking at as well." He added, twisting the ring on his middle finger unconsciously
