The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Mam scraped the contents of the large but still over loaded pan onto a large platter heaping up the bacon, of various degrees of doneness. Some almost charred and others curled up stringy and still moist.

She set it evenly between the vistors, and slapped away Srutu's hand as he eagerly reached for the hot meat. Scolding him for his impatience. She gestured for Lilith and Hana to take some, then held a single finger up and giving Bagga, Srutu, and Gree a stern warning look before turning back to the wood burning cook stove.

Given the clear sign that the group was welcomed at the table, Hana found herself an unoccupied seat, quietly keeping to herself as rested her hands in her lap in a formal manner.
Elim was goggling at her. It would’ve been assumed that that was the strange mask, but he was actually just confused by the very masculine style of clothing.
"Eyyy!" Srutu called after him, "I need that food you know! I'm too scrawny bring it back!" but Korim had already loped out the door.

Terci skipped over to her Grammar, gently taking her large wrinkly brown hands in her own. "It's Terci Grammar." She said sweetly. "There's some people who need your help. I'll take you there." She was happy to be out of the house, the air in there was thick with the extra heat from the stove and the strong smells coming from her unbathed brothers, that was barely covered by the sweet and salty stench of bacon. "They were out in the Laefeslay all night." She said, bragging as though she had been out there with them.
“Ah, Terci, I see,” Grammar followed Terci quickly. She wasn’t nearly so bent to be slow, she was swift for an elderly lady. Rather, she needed it to prevent her from tripping because of her lack of sight.

Corim climbed up the ladder, tray in hand.
“I managed to sneak some food away from Mam,” he informed them, brandishing the steaming tray. “So that the injured people can eat. I hope Grammar comes soon.” He was thoughtful for a moment. “I suppose that term is confusing for you. In your language, grammar is not the same thing,” He noted that they needed something to drink, and trotted back to the house for a pitcher.

Kyle began to wish he’d stayed in the barn with the dragons. Here he felt like a dog, crawling around so many legs. He wasn’t sure if he should climb a table leg and chance being impolite and on the table or simply beg for food.
Fortunately Juun, the ten-year-old, shoved a piece of pancake under the table.
Kyle noted that it wasn’t very fluffy, not being made with eggs, but it was sweet, made with some unknown grain. And it was flavorful, due to being fried with bacon grease. Kyle was glad that the boy hadn’t given him bacon itself. That stuff was indigestible.

Ellie nodded “is there any way to I don’t know...switch off the noise?” Ellie suggested
"Not really." He sighed. "Unless I'm blindfolded, but then I wouldn't be able to talk or understand Buck either if I needed to."

Clary grinned down at him. “Make that two,” she said. The name almost made her homesick, and she wished she was home with her friend. I wonder if he’s worried. I doubt it.
She turned her attention to the house. “I’m starving. Are you coming?” Clary asked, following Maya after Korim.

Kevin glanced at Aella. “Hey. Can I take a look at your leg?” He murmured, scorching towards her.
Charlie looked longingly at the barn. I'm so hungry.. I'm never gonna be able to fall asleep. He trudged after them, speeding up so he wouldn't be left behind. "Maybe we can eat manticore steak."

Blair sat beside Gree, though she didn't spare anyone a glance. She only gave a small murmur of gratitude when Mam placed that bacon on the table, carefully taking one piece and eating it in silence, though her stomach craved more and more. Her foot thumped against the ground softly, shaking her leg beneath the table.
She wasn't nervous because of the people, actually the home gave off quite the opposite feel, and everyone seemed kind enough. She was nervous because Emma was still out there, alone and possibly injured. Or worse.

Pell hesitated with her food halfway to her mouth, suddenly unsure if this giant was going to eat her. Snorting when she realized she was just joking.
"Yep! That's Srutu sitting next to you." And then she quickly named the rest pointing in their general direction as she went around the table. "Dartuu, Elim, Vrage, Bagga, Juun, Gree, and Korim." She said finally pointing at the door her other brother had left through. "So, what's the Laefeslay like? Is it really as dangerous as they say? I've always wondered if it was just a stupid story to keep us from exploring some cool ancient ruins or something. I almost went in there last week, but Mam caught me." She said pursing her lips and frowning down at her plate in disappointment.
Lilith grinned. "Wow, you've got a lot. I've got zero. Name's Lilith, by the way." She looked at each brother in turn, committing their names and faces to memory as she gave them a polite nod.
She turned back to the girl, considering her question for a moment. "I'm not sure what they say about it, but Korim seemed shocked that we came out alive." She began slowly. "But I'd say it's dangerous. We got attacked by some wolves and giant boars, and some kind of manticoress lookin' thing. But, there was some weird lake with a giant statue of a woman holding out her hands in the middle. Whoever drank the water had some, odd effects." She finished, watching the tiny girl with cool eyes. Something about her reminded her of May, perhaps it was the adventurous and sarcastic glint in her eyes and words, and she decided she sort of liked this girl-- She seemed harmless and kind enough, besides... Having someone in such a seemingly wealthy family as her ally couldn't hurt. "What about this place? What's it like here? I'm from a place called Nashville, it's, ah, very different."

Aella had just allowed sleep to draw her in with a soothing embrace, when she was startled awake by a voice in front of her. Her eyes flickered open, and she brushed hair away from her face, blinking at Kevin. She glanced at her leg briefly. "Uhm..." she pressed her back against the wall. "S-sure..."

Kevin reached out and lightly touched Aella’s ankle, closing his eyes as his hand turned green. He focused on mending the wound. He could feel a thin layer of skin start to grow, grimacing as he forced it to cover the entire wound. Once it did, his hands flickered out and he leaned back, opening his eyes. “That’s all I can do. Hopefully these people will have more supplies, or a better healer.” Kevin said softly, frustrated by his pathetic healing ability.

Charlie looked longingly at the barn. I'm so hungry.. I'm never gonna be able to fall asleep. He trudged after them, speeding up so he wouldn't be left behind. "Maybe we can eat manticore steak."

“Oh yeah, I bet it tastes like chicken,” Clary joked, entering the house and sitting down at the table with the others. She grabbed a piece of strange looking bacon, eating it as she looked around at all of the people surrounding the table.

Growing uncomfortably hot in the bustling kitchen, Hana removed her slightly torn up red floral jacket and placed it on the back of her chair, leaving her in her black tank top. She glanced at the dark skinned boy who was on the other side of the table, noticing his wide eyed stare at her. She was used to weird stares like that, even with or without her mask. Her mouth was straight as a line, unbothered by the eyes on her as she started to serve herself a few pieces of bacon and what appeared like pancakes. Before eating though, she put her hands together in a praying motion then bowed her head a little bit and murmured a polite, “itadakimasu” She always had to do this before eating, it was a significant piece of Japanese etiquette.

She gave in reluctantly, “so....Tru, what-oh Wait your a dog. You can’t speak” she sighed giggling quietly
Tru panted happily, wagging his tail and giving a playful bark.

Lilith smiled at Mam as she made it clear she could take some. "Thank you, Miss." She murmured, slowly grabbing a couple burnt pieces with her metal hand. She looked up at Pell for a moment, still listening for a reply as she took a bite of one gingerly. "This is... Really good."

Kylan walked back in, stepping towards Mam with a kind look, before glancing at the food. "I have a friend, outside..." He pointed at himself, then outside. "May I take some food to her?"

Aella watched him warily, grimancing at the strange feeling. "Thank you," she said quietly, inspecting the freshly healed skin briefly before leaning back against the wall, offering a small smile. "You didn't have to do that. But thank you."
