The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Kylan felt like screaming. An ugly, gut wrenching scream that would describe his current emotions quaintly.
However people were around and that probably would further prove to everyone his constantly deteriorating sanity.
He couldn't stand it. Any of it. Yes, the people of the village were kind and the Corim family was quick to help the rag-tag group's every need, but Torin was out there. All alone. Maybe he was dead, maybe he wasn't. He knew it was slim for his little brother's survival, and he knew the others were losing the same hope, he could see Lilith slowly seem to doubt it even when she desperately tried to hide it for his and the werewolf's sakes whenever they were around.
He followed the other's quietly as they scrambled to the house, probably dragging back the most out of all of them. Every step he took just felt like another wasted moment, dragging heavy with mental tiredness. It was nearly impossible for him to smile in the last two days, only barely forcing it on whenever he was talking to Aria or Lilith. He'd taken to relying on his friends over the days, feeding off Aria's kindness and Lilith's forceful resilience.
He finally dragged himself in, slouching down in a seat between Aria and one of the Corim boys, that he suspected was named Srutu.

Lilith disdained being near so many people, even if she hailed from a city. She didn't like the raging emotions, and was finding it harder and harder to go near any of the group. Their anxieties were deafening, making her own strength wain as she was forced to feel every high and low they went through, and she found it the hardest to be near anyone of the people who were missing someone-- Namely Kylan. In all honesty, she didn't really believe the kids could be alive with all the dangerous creatures roaming the woods, and she knew that he knew she felt that way, making her feel horrid that she was contributing to his obviously cracking mind.
She carefully sat down in a sat wedged between Hana and Eve, pulling up her black hoodie that she had refused to stop wearing even when Mallie had insisted that she needed a dress. Lilith's own hatred of dresses had automatically made her turn her nose up at everything the shorter lady had offered her, however kind she knew she was being. Dresses made her feel sick when she wore one, mainly because of how angry her mother would get when she accidentally got dirt one the ones she wore when she was younger-- So over the years, she'd simply just taken to wearing hoodies and turtlenecks.
Mam had still been kind enough to wash her clothes, which she had tentatively accepted, even though she still didn't trust the woman. They now smelled of something fresh, and it reminded her of lavender.
Pell had also conveyed to her mother that Tru was trained and only stayed with Lilith to help with her overwhelming senses, and the woman had begrudgingly been swayed to let him keep at the tall girl's side for the last couple of meals until they sent off for the we-sa's lair.
She now reached forward, selecting several pieces of angry bacon and screewhea pancakes and plopping them onto her plate-- Slipping several under the table and to Tru once the rare occurrence of no one looking happened.
She bit into the pancakes, smiling a little at Mam at the counter. I should thank her. "Guud. Tromd aeui." 'Good. Thank you.' She murmured, having basically beseeched Pell to teach her some basics of the interesting language, and her aptness for learning them had helped her get good at small, broken up words.

Aria turned to smiled at Kylan before it slipped. “You know Kylan you don’t need to fake a smile around me. I can tell it’s forced when you do smile.” She said.

Eve looked up when Lilith sat down. She quite liked this girl.

Ellie giggled stroking the cougars head “cute.”
He smiled, happy that Ellie and Buck got along so well. "After you're done eating, do you want to go on walk and get away from all the creatures running around here?" He asked, hoping it wasn't too forward. He didn't want to scare her off, but at the same time he would like to spend some time with her alone, and without about 100 different dragon voices inside his head.
He patted Buck's head, avoiding eye-contact temporarily as he felt his face heat up slightly and hoping she didn't notice.

“Sure” Ellie noticed his face go pink and smiled to herself “I’d like that”

He nodded, smiling. "Alright, I'll wait outside." He looked up, holding eye contact for a moment before standing and walking out. Once he was out, he grinned, scratching Buck's ears. That went... well he thought, a bit surprised. Sighing in contentment, he leaned against a tree to wait for her and enjoyed the silence, having forgotten what it was like to only hear his own voice inside his head.

The meal was mostly quiet. Korim’s mind was whirling, wondering how he could get away with these strangers without breaking his Mam’s heart.
Kyle had found a seat that he sat on crosslegged, and was chewing on a bit of pancake.
Cam was just digging into what might be her last substantial meal for a while, if Korim was to be believed.
When Cam felt like she couldn’t possibly eat another bite, Korim stood up. Everyone was almost finished eating.
“I think it’s time I prepare our guests for our departure,” Korim said. He put his plate in the dish basin and washed his hands. He went into the shed to find the bags.
Crying erupted from a faraway room and Mallie disappeared to go tend her daughter.
Then absolute silence.

No matter the exhaustion he felt Kipp wasn't able to sleep. Instead he laid curled up in his small cubby hole his eyes open but vacantly staring far past the stone wall in front of him. Their attempted escape played over and over in his mind, leaching away all hope of ever leaving this place.

Kipp flinched at the imagined screams of pain, tightening his hands over his ears in a pointless attempt to block it out. He'd accepted the overwhelming guilt he felt had been rightfully earned. He'd spent most of his life avoiding conflict, he knew better than to stand up for himself. And in this one instance he had selfishly only thought of himself and roped everyone else in with him.

He squeezed his eyes shut, begging his mind to stop. That it was enough. He knew he was wrong to have tried, to have had any hope at all of escape. They were going to be here forever.

The low rumbling of voices and movement from out side his small alcove slowly drew his attention. He had no desire to eat, but knew he had to go to the cafeteria, or be accused of trying to avoid work. Kipp crawled over to the edge sliding sideways onto the rickety ladder to climb down, his wings jumping out to keep him balanced as he descended.

The odd stillness in the large room, had him on edge, but his sleep deprived mind wouldn't supply an explanation.

Take seated himself at one of the long tables in the ‘cafeteria’ with a bowl of curry tasting soup and a stick of stale bread. The past few days that he’d been in the Dakrium hadn’t been the most pleasant. He still held the strong rebellious mindset against the enforcers of the place, refusing to comply with their orders which resulted him in the most severe beatings one could get. He took every lash without showing an inch of agony or sufferance. Only flinching every time the whip made contact with his back. When each session was done, Take was left with stinging wounds, that would heal, but only to be reopened again by another lashing. The skin on his back went through consecutive trauma, and at this point it could only heal over, creating long, jagged scars across his broad back. The fabric on the back of his sleeveless hoodie was completely ripped away, leaving his back exposed. Since he was not given a new change of clothes, he had to walk around in his poorly conditioned ones. He still held his determination to find a way out of this stronghold, and would wander through the halls trying to map out the place visually, but only to be caught and thrown back to his original post by the transformation room. The first night though, he got in a fight with one of the other boys that stole his paper thin blanket, and the result was him giving the boy a bloody nose and a jab to the stomach, while Take received weak punches to the face.

Rarely he would see some kids walking about in the corner of his eye, but none he recognized. He hadn’t come across Emma or Kylan’s brother the entire time he’d been there, not knowing Kipp or Fred were there as well.

Take ate slowly, knowing that the kids would be joining after those who were promoted ate first. Hopefully I get to stay longer to see if I can find them..
