The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

(Kipp was supposed to be standing but I think everyone thinks he's crouching. So... He's crouching now....? 🤷‍♀️ )

Kipp looked between the three of them, care and concern was the only thing he could see. Not the accusatory, annoyed glares he was expecting.
"You don't... hate me?" He asked in whispered confusion. Take didn't have reason to hate him, at least not yet. Not that he was aware of anyway. But the other two, everything he'd done since getting to this planet had been wrong.
(Oops sorry)
Take went back to standing up, giving a slightly puzzled look. Hate him for crying..? “Heck no dude..” he replied boldly, shaking his head.

She nodded passing him the notebook
“Thank you,” Korim said, writing in perfect characters in the Portsmoth language.
Dear Mam and family,
I love you very much.

Korim paused, tapping the charcoal on the paper, leaving a black smudged. Unsure of what else to say.
I must go with the strangers. They need a linguist or a guide. They want to get the children back. They could save your brother and Jin.
Jin. Korim’s best friend. Went into the forest alone one day and didn’t come back.
I could make a difference.
I could get away from here. Korim decided not to write that part.
I just want you to know that’s where I’m going. I love you all. I will be back. I’m sincerely sorry that you might all might be heartbroken in my absence.
Again,
I’m sorry.
I love you.
Your son and brother,
Korim Corim.

Corim tore out the page and folded the letter and turned looking at one of his feathered followers. One the color of gripple fruit flesh. “Kamel, give this message to Mam. Take your time. I want to be gone before she sees it,” He instructed.
“Of course,” the dragon said, a rare picture of solemnity as she reached out with her short arm and grabbed it in her clever little claws.
She fluttered in the sky, soaring above the barn before landing on the roof of the house, settling into a sphynx-like pose on the shingles, paper carefully curled beneath her handy talons.
Korim handed the notebook back to Eve, wringing his hands. “Let’s go,” he said, almost impatiently, as though he hadn’t been the one delaying them.

“Why would we hate you? Kipp, we’re all going through tough times right now. It’s even more of a reason to stick together, isn’t it?”

Fred shook his head “of coarse we don’t hate you Kipp”

The three spoke in unison refuting his suspicions. Ashira's words reassuring him the same way Take had done before. He looked between the two of them allowing the feeling of isolation that had taken root to be swayed by their presence. His gaze fell to Fred who was standing a bit behind Take and Ashira, there had been some unspoken argument lingering between the two of them.

He stood himself back up, not remembering when he'd crouched back down. "Stick together." He agreed nodding. Kipp took a deep breath through his nose and sighed. "Take, you want to try to escape again." He shook his head biting his lip, "It's too dangerous." He said, looking over at Emma. "Everyone they catch gets the same punishment." His bright yellow eyes flickered over to Take, a dark look filling his face almost as though he was trying to look menacing, except there was a sadness in his eyes that couldn't be hidden. "You've been caught. You were fine. I've... actually had worse. But the little kids. We can't just force our way out. They're going to be slower, louder, and a lot more fragile than we are. We need more than just a direction. If there isn't a guarantee that we'll get out on the first try then we're not going."

“It’s a stretch... but what if I could find someone that would be willing to smuggle the kids out?” Ashira asked. “I can speak whatever language I need to, do I’d be best for the job. If it comes to it, I’d die if it means you all got out safely.” The fire in her eyes showed she meant it.
(not to worry :D Sarah needs to catch up anyway. :3 If she hasn't given up yet that is. )
(Lol. I’m catching up from page 243)

Fred nodded silently, he wasn’t sure what to say.

(Kipp's a short distance away having a melt down. )

Chion held the dirtied fabric in her hand surprised for a moment that she'd some how gotten exactly what she needed without asking. Then recalled Ashira was a telepath, not a linguist and smiled at her appreciatively before draping the cloth over her head and wrapping it round the lower half of her face, and neck. Hopefully it would be enough to hide her similar features.

She poked Torin, getting his attention so that he wouldn't be surprised to have a stranger sitting next to him. Then changed while she had his attention.
Take sat with long his legs over both sides of the wooden bench, fingers tracing the texture and grooves. These kids have their interests straight.. Dragons are totally metal.. it’d be cool to ride one. He grinned a little, “When we get out of here, we can go see them alright? If the barn isn’t too far from this place... or there’s some wild ones flying around” he replied. He gave a glance at Kipp who was now crouched down on the ground, looking conflicted unlike before. He raised a brow, “Not sure..” and rose from his seat, walking over to to the girl who seemed to be checking on Kipp, “Uh, you good Kipp?” he asked, giving Ashira a questioning look as he scratched a spot in his hair that was shorter than the rest. Wasn’t that Fred kid with him?
Torin's eyes sparkled at the man's words, admiration in his face. Not only did this guy seem really cool, but he also seemed just as kind, and sort of reminded him of Kylan.
He peered over at the gathering people around Kipp, watching them with sympathy before raising from his seat; having finished his breakfast of soup and bread, stepping over to the group but hanging back a bit as his soft black eyes locked onto the bird-man. "Why would anyone hate you?" He finally said from his position, having listened to their conversation with curiosity. "You seem like a good guy. Like, you tried to save us. That was really brave and kind." In his mind, nothing Kipp had done had been on him for getting them whipped-- It had just been their terrifying captors fault.
