The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Take never stopped beaming, even as he stared at the mans disfigured face full of scars, his flames illuminating the trauma in the mans skin. There wasn’t a glimpse of remorse in Take’s three eyes as he pinned him against the wall with a single hand on his neck “You’re absolutely stunning, your face, completely ethereal.” he tilted his head allured by what his eyes were seeing, but wasn’t completely distracted by Trintan attempting to escape. His tail whipped around, wrapping itself around Trintans ankle and flinging the man into the nearest wall without batting an eye. “Let me go now. Or else you’ll be seeing a wall in your future.”
What are you saying?“ Man-unmasked screamed.

Trintan cringed into his pale skinny self against the wall. He pointed a bone-like finger at the other man. “It’s him, he has the keys,” he said.
Only one person? He thought skeptically. "Ok, yes, I guess. He put himself in danger intentionally. So we could get away. Don't you think he'll be pissed if we go back to res-" he stopped mid-sentence knowing that what he was saying wasn't accurate. If thhey went back and actually managed to get him out of there he'd be relieved and happy. "If we go back, and get caught." He tried rewording it, but still he knew it would be easier to keep going in that place with a friend.

Kipp looked down the pathway they were following. They had almost made it to the end. The forest wasn't very far from where they were, and it would be a lot easier to travel in there than the cliff had been.

"Let's get to the trees first. Then we can figure out what we're doing." He said, it would likely be easier to climb back up in the woods, with plants to grab on to. And it would get them out of the rain. Which, though not particularly heavy, was starting to soak through his clothes.
Finally under the trees Kipp knelt down and let Noah off his back.
"We have two little kids who can't go back there. They need food and water and a dry place to sleep." He could use a place to sleep too, but he didnt care where, the squishy ground under his feet would do.

"Chion should be around here somewhere with the others. If they were together they'd be a lot safer. We can't just leave them on their own."
“I don’t wanna go back,” Noah whined, tears rolling down his already wet face. The rain had helped to clean some of the dirt off of his face. He sat under the trees, which weren’t as thick as the Papercutter Forest, and let rain and a fading ray of sunlight through every once in a great while.
But Noah still despised being in the darkness, after seeing the sun for the first time in days. And he liked the fresh, warm feeling of rain on his skin, after spending time in the dusty dark. But what he hated the most about the forest is that a we-sa had taken him here, at the beginning of his woes.
“Can we stay out?”

“Well, since we’re here, do you suppose we should stop for lunch? Mallie packed a special lunch that will spoil pretty quickly, so we had better eat it now,” Korim said.
“It is noon,” Cam said, stomach grumbling. They’d been walking all morning, and she was hungry again.

What are you saying?“ Man-unmasked screamed.

Take pouted, “You spineless fool..” his hand burned into the mans skin as he drained him of his remaining energy, just as he did to Blair in the bug infested castle. He waited for the man to faint before searching his body for the keys then tossing him on top of Trintan. He freed himself from his shackles and then from his cell after a moment or two of searching through the assortment of keys. When he stepped out, he took a deep breath, steam emitting from his cuts and wounds as they healed, especially the grotesque scars on his back that refused to heal properly. A guard charged at him with his spear, but it was futile when Take ripped the spear from the guards hands and pierced it through his assailant.

Take sprinted to where Blair was being held, excitement filling him as he launched himself on the bars of her cell. His tail waved as he looked her up and down, “You’ve gotten yourself into a predicament here..” he commented with a devious smile, holding the ring of keys in his right hand.

He looked down the hill squinting around the trees into the open blackness. He could see in the dark, but not that far. Nit that it mattered if Fred had seen a river then there was a river. And if Chion had seen the river she probably would head there too.

Kipp took the grass, looking down at it in pure confusion. Why did she want him to tie the kids to a tree? So they wouldnt wander off? He followed her pointed finger still not grasping what she was telling him to do, or why.

His mouth dropped open as he realized she was planning to leave them all there. He had intended to go back with her if they could get the kids to safety. But she was planning to leave now. With out talking to him about it.

"You think you can make it back in the dark?" He asked annoyed with how she'd decided to leave them all behind and go on her own.
“I have to. If Take is in danger, he doesn’t have all night!”

(I’m confused. I had it Ari had teleported a few posts ago so they are in the middle of a forest at the moment)
(i'm pretty sure they're all there in the forest, what Kevin means is don't keep jumping them so someone doesnt get stranded when Aria runs out of energy.)

(Yup, what Kate said.)

(Ohhhhh okay sorry @FrankieDoodle i was suuuper confused)

(Don’t be sorry, I wrote that right before going to bed. Most of my posts when I do that make no sense. XD )

Chion slowed her large ears picking up the names of the others. Did they not follow us? She wondered, practically turning around to look behind her. The others were missing. Now what? Should they keep going or go back? She didn't think she'd been going that fast. But then maybe Fred was still having a hard time walking.

She huffed a loud sigh though her nose looking at their current surroundings indecisively. She'd been aiming for the river she'd spotted, winding it's way through the valley. But if the others weren't able to make it that far then maybe they should wait. Then again, if they were so far behind that she couldn't spot them in the open field, maybe they'd gone a completely different way. Where is the most likely place they would try to go? She'd been aiming for the river, since they were all going to need water to drink. She could smell the bread that Seina had, so food wasn't a concern to her. At least not yet. She suddenly realized that though her current form didn't feel hungry, it was well past when they would normally get to eat and the kids were probably starving. We can stop and eat. That'll give the others a chance to catch up. She decided, grunting to get Seina's attention and trotting over to a pile of large boulders. She laid herself down in the grass, and nudged Torin's leg with her nose. Having a rest wasn't a bad idea.

---

Seina had been following the creature that somehow seemed to understand their urgent desire to get down the mountain, away from Olim's reach. She didn't know how the kids had trained one of the Tregdar's (there now it has a name) to carry them. But it seemed to be working out well for them. It had taken some effort for her to keep up with it, it moved a lot faster out in the open than she thought it could. She'd only ever seen them in the mines pulling heavy carts, and they seemed like terribly slow creatures.

It stopping to look around was not something she'd expected. Just how smart are these things? She wondered following it curiously. When it flopped to the ground she wondered if maybe it had just finally gotten tired and was done carrying the kids.

Seina set Elon down smiling at the exhausted looking wood nymph. "You're still awake? Are you hungry?" She asked, pulling a flattened piece of bread out of her pocket and offering it to him. She still didn't know if he could understand her.
Kipp tucked his arms under Noah's legs, to support his weight as he stood. The kids was right he really wasn't that heavy, and it would be a lot easier to carry him on his back than it was to carry Emma in his arms.

"Fred, I want you behind me, and Ashira behind you. Ashira, you should be able to use my thoughts to see, right? Or does it work like that?" He realized that he hadn't figured out, exactly how her powers worked yet. Or maybe he had and just didn't remember.

--------

Seina smiled, glad that at least one of the kids would understand her. "I'm sorry I don't have any water. I think we're headed to a river though." She said her voice kind and gentle. She put a hand on his cheek wiping off a black smudge with her thumb. "I'll carry you when we start going again ok."

She got up and offered food to the other two boys, and gave the Tregdar a pat on it's flat head, eliciting an appreciative snort from the creature.

-----

Chion gave the girl a dirty look for patting her head.
"Did you just PAT me?" It was bad enough being stuck like this. Now she was being treated like an animal too.
Torin's eyes widened at being given bread, a smile spreading easily over his dirty face. "Thank you!" He gasped, noticing her pat beast-Chion.
"That's Chion," He blurted, deciding to inform the woman that she wasn't just some animal. "she's actually a shapeshifter. Not that thing." He rambled, the last part becoming muffled as he began to hungrily devour his bread. He wished desperately there was water to wash it down with its cool wetness, but he was content enough to just be free from their momentary slavery.
Aria shut her eyes “I have never teleported that many people.” She whispered, “ I am exhausted”
Kylan frowned, worry tugging at his stomach. "Do you need to stop and rest?" He asked softly, not sure of what to do. They did need to rest and eat sometimes, but that also meant more time not spent trekking towards Torin, and he was keen on that idea. But if Aria needed it, she needed it.
Kevin turned to face her. “No. Everyone’s here, but if you keep teleporting we might get stranded. We can’t risk getting separated, and you need to save your energy. I can’t carry you and my birds.” He said. “It was foolish of me to think this would be a good idea.”
"Kevin's right," Kylan murmured, watching them. "no one said how far we'd keep teleporting. At least give it a break until you can get some energy back, okay, Ari?" He said, eyes concerned.
He glanced at Lilith, who had sided up to them, and she gave him an agreeing nod.

What are you saying?“ Man-unmasked screamed.

Trintan cringed into his pale skinny self against the wall. He pointed a bone-like finger at the other man. “It’s him, he has the keys,” he said.

“I have to. If Take is in danger, he doesn’t have all night!”

"You're not going back." Kipp said firmly to Noah, he needed time to think, and Noah's whining wasn't helping. Kipp sighed tipping his head back and closing his eyes. Nothing made sense. How could he decide what to do, if it didn't make sense. He could feel his body relaxing his breath slowing, as he stood there. The tiny rain drops poking at his face like icy little fingers. He doesn't have all night! His mind shouted, not allowing his thoughts to continue wandering. How much help would I be? Take knew what he was doing. It's a bad idea. He doesn't speak Portsmouth. It can't be him.

"There's no way what you're hearing is Take. He doesn't know Portsmouth. It's probably a trap." But then, Take is in danger. Isn't there a benefit going in knowing a trap is a trap? Kipp shook his head realigning his thoughts, the question wasn't whether they should go back. Ashira was going regardless what he said. The question is am I going, or staying with the kids? Where should I be?

"I can't go with you." He said finally. Realizing that no matter how much he wanted to help, he wasn't capable of making it back up the mountain.

Seina tilted her head to the side. Completely unable to comprehend what he was saying, she gave him a friendly smile and moved under the overhang, finding a semi-dry spot to sit and pulling a piece of bread from her pocket for herself.

She hadn't expected to be in charge of so many kids all at once, and she wondered if this was what it would be like to have kids. They all seemed really easy to take care of. Not begging for food, or sleep or the bathroom even, like she was told she did when she was little. Maybe they were exceptionally good kids. Or maybe they had really strict parents who wouldn't let them act like that. She didn't know, but she wanted her own kid to be just like them. What would she do with her own kid in this situation? Out in a rainstorm, scared of the bad guys coming and taking them away. Most of them couldn't understand what she said to them. What could she do to make them feel better?

Seina looked over at Torin, and Alex they seemed pretty young still. What could she do to help them be less afraid? A small smile turned up the corners of her mouth.

"Hey, what was that?" She asked in mock surprise, pointing up at the sky. Creating a little red light that spiraled and looped around in the air, making it disappear with an electrical zap, and then reappear somewhere else.

“I know,” she answered. “I wouldn’t expect you to. The kids need you. Besides, this is my fight, not yours. My people trapped you and hurt you. It’s up to me to make things right.”
