The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

"Because..." He began, intending to make their destruction of Kevin's house seem like more than curiosity getting the better of them.

Kipp winced at her voice, and then at the flakes of paint as they bounced off of him, embarrassed she'd caught him doing something he knew was wrong. Not just doing, instigating, encouraging, assisting...

Fred pulled himself up into the attic finally relieving the weight from Kipp's shoulders.
"H-hey, Cam..." He said grinning sheepishly at her and sweeping some of the pain chips under his foot to hide them. "Games? Y-yeah, that's uh, exactly why we went up there. That makes sense." He said nodding it would be a much more believable excuse than looking for the laundry room in a sealed shut, not even a ladder access attic.

(It's a typo, but i'm leaving it. "Pain chips" XD )
(Ok)
The attic was dark. “Ooh” a large crib drew his attention, he walked over a tad terrified that the wood floor would break under his feet. He inspected the crib as best he could without having much light, it was Hand made. He glanced nervously over his shoulder. This was definitely like a scene out a horror movie, Fred took in the worn wooden sloped ceiling and the lack of windows. There was heaps of baby stuff, was Kevin divorced? Was he having a child? Thoughts raced through Fred’s head as he inspected all the junk in the attic. He peered in the old fashioned cradle noticing hair peeking out from under a blanket, curious he lifted the blanket. A dolls ceramic face stared blankly back at him “ahahhahahah” he jumped backwards. It took him a moment to realise it was a doll and not someone’s sick idea of a grave. He ran a hand through his hair as he steadied his racing heart, clearly someone was expecting a child though and most likely Kevin. He edged away from the cradle making sure never to have his back to it. He hated the idea of that doll coming to life. Fred continued to back up before he bumped into something, a wooden box. Why is everything in this house wooden? He though but nonetheless he pried off its lid. He rolled his eyes, a photo album. How very boring. Fred reached to put the lid back on the box when a photo stopped him, on top of the photo album sat a picture of Kevin and a woman. A Russian woman, though she could have been German, or Scandinavian, or Portuguese, or Spanish, or Italian, or American, or English, or Icelandic, or Norwegian, or French, or Mexican, or — Fred stopped himself, he’d be there all day listing the countries she could have been from. “That’s it!” Fred cried suddenly, this woman was quite obviously the one who was the mother to Kevin’s future Child. Fred was struck with a thought, oh dear. What if he has missed his child being born? Oh dear I must tell him in case he has forgotten. Fred pocketed the photo and walked towards the exit, turning and taking one last look at the room before looking back down at the group.

KEVIN MUST BE EXPECTING A CHILD.

“According to them, there’s games in the laundry room.” Charlie said brightly, pointing at the attic for added effect.

Charlie watched the dark square of attic above them. He heard a scream and squinted his eyes even more to try and see what was going on up there. There’s probably a bunch of antiques up there. Or family albums. Or washing machines. Or maybe... ghosts? He had noticed that the general layout of Kevin’s house was very old fashioned. A perfect ghost habitat. He’s like a Russian farmer from the 1800’s. Actually, that’s exactly what he is. Except for being in the 1800’s. When Fred reappeared, Charlie looked at him expectantly. “Did you see a ghost? This type of house is very likely to be haunted.”

(That is an absolutely fabulous description. :clap

But... it was never specified that Kevin had a wife. :D)
“No ghosts just a” Fred went a little red “a creepy doll”
“And a heap of baby stuff.” Fred added “look at this. I think Kevin is married, or was married but whoever he is with is the mother of his child. Which would explain why there is a cot, a doll, and a pram and heaps of other things up there”. Fred grinned brandishing the picture so they could see.
The girl was blond, like Kevin, and favored him.
“Are you sure it’s not his sister, or cousin? She looks a lot like him,” Cam pointed out.
Blair had been minding her own business, when a scream caught her attention. She tilted her head up, looking up the stairs. No one else seemed to hear it, but she certainly did. She slid off the stool and made her way up the stairs.
Instantly, dust caused her to sneeze as she approached the top of the stairs. There began her first suspicion. And the paint chips scattered on the floor wasn't exactly normal. "Is everyone ok– What are you doing?" Her gaze was drawn not to the people standing there, but instead to the knife laying amongst the scattering of paint chips and the gaping hole in the ceiling.
She immediately turned her gaze to Kipp, who before she always assumed was the most responsible out of the ones gathered. "What the hell are you doing?"
Cam and Noah had been watching and had become entranced in watching Fred and Kipp in their questionable explorations.
And now they had somehow become accomplices do to a comment Cam had made before she fully understood the situation.
She released a breath and took a step away from Charlie, Fred, and Kipp, who were obviously toxic to society, grabbing Noah’s hand like a Karen about to get the manager.
I was not involved,” she said, even though she felt she had somehow become involved.

Kipp shot Cam a nervous glance, she was going to leave him to face Blair on his own. Not that she shouldn't it was completely his fault. His eyes flickered back to Blair, heat rising in his cheeks. Don't back down. Just don't back down. He told himself as he stared up at her, his hands fidgeted at his sides.
"Helping?" That had been the intention, though it had gone a bit off track. He cleared his throat and tried to redirect. "Do you think Kevin has a kid?"

"There's no ghosts." He didn't like the whole idea of ghosts wandering around, even having run into that "dead" girl back in September he hadn't been convinced that she was really a ghost. "Why are you trying to freak him out?"
“Hey, he screamed.” Charlie pointed out. He kicked idly at the paint chips scattered over the floor.
“No ghosts just a” Fred went a little red “a creepy doll”
Kipp looked up at Fred giving him a confused concerned look.
"All Kevin has in his sealed attic is a creepy doll?" He glanced at Charlie, and Cam, now preferring the idea of the house being haunted. At least that would mean Kevin hadn't lured them all to his house to chop them up and feed them to his animals or something.
Kipp shook his head chasing away his wild thoughts. Kevin was just Kevin. He wasn't going to do anything bad to any of them, the doll was probably just forgotten there before the attic was closed off. That made far more sense.

“The knife is for.. chopping.. up pancakes.” Charlie said, stumbling over his words. With one look from Blair, he stepped back, his hands up. “I didn’t do anything, I’m just here for the ghosts.”

Blair looked over all of them, raising a brow. Charlie was scared of her, it seemed, though he seemed innocent enough. Cam seemed like she was mature enough to own up when she was in fault, and seemed to be telling the truth.
Kipp, however, was radiating anxiety. "Helping." She repeated, looking at him sharply. "By cutting a hole in the ceiling." She was too baffled to actually get angry. How did cutting the ceiling open help? "Do I think Kevin has a child– do not try and change the subject on me. What are you doing? You do realize your are destroying property that is not yours, correct?"

"It's an attic door. I didn't just cut a giant hole. It's a door." He said defensively. "More paint came off than expected, but it's fine." He knew it wasn't fine but it was already done. "We just..." he waved his hand toward the ceiling dismissively, pretending it wasn't a big deal. "have to slide the door back into place, and sweep. Kevin won't even notice."

“I’m sure” Fred confirmed “I need you to help me down. Them I’m going to go find Kevin and tell him his Kid has been born”

"Its not fine—" Blair stopped herself instantly. She sounded just like her mother. She couldn't sound like her mother. That was the last thing she wanted. "Its not fine, Kipp, I can't—Kevin has a kid?!" Blair looked up at Fred, another wave of confusion washing over her. "I don't...since when has Kevin had a kid?"

"See? There's bigger problems than a little mess on the floor." Kipp said guesturing at Fred. Absoultely no-one was going to be talking to Kevin about how they broke into his attic and had been rummaging through his stuff. "So... Let's just find a shed to tie him up and gag him in. No one would notice him missing." Kipp was just joking about tying him up. But it was something they had to deal with before they let him down out of the attic.

Blair forced herself to breathe, and assess the situation. Yelling wouldn't do anything. But calmness also wouldn't. "You're going to go to Kevin, explain to him what you did and apologize. Understand? You're not going to lie to him. You can't just go into peoples stuff without their permission." There. The perfect amount of calm and angry. That eerie calm with undertones of anger that always made her freeze. Hopefully it would work with them.
