The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Blair paused, looking back as the unicorn bolted, galloping away. She looked at Take, then at Hana, then towards the clearly distressed Aella. She didn't really care, the unicorn was still alive and the group was safe. Emma, Take, Kit and Kipp were safe and that's all that really mattered to her, unlike Aella who was upset by the occurence.
She came back down to the group, looking at the unicorn horn. It was probably the most beautiful thing about the whole unicorn, a twisted, glittering horn. "It's pretty," Emma murmured sleepily, making grabby hands towards the horn.
"I know, but we have to leave it be, okay? It's important." She explained gently, adjusting her against her hip. She was watching the group discuss the usage of the horn, her mind wandering. If it had been the 7th when they had appeared and three days had passed...
It meant it would be the tenth back on Earth.
The tenth was a full moon.
Horror set in, apparent in her eyes and face if you looked closely enough. The moon. I haven't seen the moon. Does it mean it doesn't work the same here? Oh, god...I hope so.
She glanced briefly at Take. She had forgotten the pendant Damien had given her, which she normally kept with her. It helped immensely, and she hardly got wounded anymore, for she was able to keep her human mind. It also hurt less then normal.
But if she changed...
The damage she might do was unthinkable, especially if Take wasn't able to pull her back to the front. She looked down at her hands clasped over Emma, a shaky breath escaping her. "It'll be fine..." she murmured to herself.
"What?"
"Nothing, Em, its fine."

Kipp ran until he couldn't anymore, collapsing onto a large rock to rest, leaning on his elbows. He had stupidly gone off on his own again, though he could still see the others with a glance over his shoulder. Hopefully that meant he was fine.

He was so tired of new random things showing up and trying to kill them. It was never something normal. Why couldn't it be something normal, like a bus, or another human? He knew what to do about that. Running away and hoping you didn't get crushed by sentient rolling boulders, zapped by magic from a mountain-goat-unicorn, or kidnapped by shadows was just too much. How was he supposed to come up with a plan to not get caught or die when there was no way to tell what was going to happen next?

The idea of giving up crossed his mind, but he knew what that would mean. If he stayed behind, the we-sa would come back and he'd be trapped at the mine again. Kipp sighed, staring down at his bruised and cut up hands. A faint smile gently pulling at one side of his mouth, as he closed his fingers, Cam had held his hand. He didn't allow himself more than a few seconds to entertain the thought of her possibly liking him back, of course she didn't. She would have grabbed the hand of whoever was next to her, and had let go the second she realized. But he'd still gotten to hold her hand and that was reason enough to keep going.

As bad as things were, it wasn't all bad, and really, overall, things were a lot better than they were yesterday, so he really shouldn't be complaining. He pushed himself back up on to his feet, slowly making his way back toward the others who were starting to move again.

Take noticed Kipp had gone far ahead of the group, assuming he fled when Korim said to do so. It had certainly been some time since the last he and Kipp talked, and he might as well try to make conversation to get his mind off Blair. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, one hand playing with the collection of coins he suprisingly still had. “Hey Kipp, you get a good run?” he teased lightheartedly, cracking a smirk.

(The instance Kipp is remembering:

Take continued a few steps before stopping as well and turning halfways towards Kipp.

He let out a sigh as his three yellow scelras slowly made their way to look at Kipp, “We’ll be fine as long as nothing stupid happens” he said straightforwardly, stuffing his hands his his robe pockets. He then looked towards the center at those who remained. He clicked his tongue, “We just gotta be there for one another, even though we all barely met like a day ago.”

All this seriousness was a total fun killer, so he just shot a grin a Kipp, “Don’t worry about it alright?”
)

Kipp stopped to look up at Take, before falling in step beside him.
"Mmn, it was amazing..." He answered sarcastically, not bothering to mask his dislike of being stuck on the ground. He reluctantly spoke again, less nervous about talking to him than he had been earlier. Take wasn't usually one to fake being nice, so he likely wasn't mad at him at all and he'd just made things awkward in his own mind. "I should have come back for you." He admitted, wondering if this counted as an apology. Take had been the one to tell him that they all needed to be there for each other, and he'd left him behind.

Take glanced down at Kipp, hearing the pangs of guilt in his words. He looked ahead, sighing. “You would have probably been caught too y’know, and turned into a we-sa if you came back for me.” He thought about Kipp being on that table, chained down and earning excruciating jolts of paralyzing pain throughout his entire body. He wouldn’t have been able to take it, he’s just a kid. “Blair and I managed to get out of that place either way with Ashira’s help.” His hand pulled out a single coin, and started to roll it in his fingers. “Besides, I’m sure Cam wouldn’t have been so happy to see you as a we-sa.”

Ashira wasn't caught but I would have been. I'm just that lame. He knew that wasn't how it was meant, but that was how he viewed it anyway so it wasn't hard to hear the criticism. He had thought Ashira would be caught too though so maybe he was just that lame. He watched Take flip the coin through his fingers wondering how he'd learned to do that. And how he could do it while walking and talking.

“Besides, I’m sure Cam wouldn’t have been so happy to see you as a we-sa.” Kipp batted Take over the head with a wing to distract him from his reddening face.

"Shut up. I didn't think I was being that obvious." If even Take knew then Cam probably did too.

Take lurched forward from being whacked in the head. He just bursted out laughing, “Hey man, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about... besides those awkward conversations you two have.” he pointed out, besides Kipp getting obviously flustered around Cam. He rubbed the back of his head, “Just don’t do anything impulsive, it’ll just drive her away.” was his genuine piece of advice after looking back on how his and Blair’s relationship started. His feelings were intense back then, and she refused them for some time.

Hana was ahead of the group a ways, and started climbing up a massive rock pile to observe the groups surroundings from a higher elevation. When she reached the top, she scanned the mountainous rocky landscape. At a distance, she noticed structures that looked man-made, and subtle smoke that rose into the sky from the settlements activity. She spun around and starting waving her hands at the group, signaling that there was something important ahead. “The settlement!” she managed to yell, then coughed from having to raise her voice.

Kyle turned Rylie so he could gallop up beside her. Kyle stood up on Rylie’s shoulder blades, peering over his head and shading his eyes from the sun shining above.
There were buildings on the mountain to the north, and the only marker that could lead to it was a rough yellowish dirt path snaking from the west, where they had been, to the settlement. It obviously narrower than it once was due to less use.
“How ever did you manage to lead us in the right direction?” He asked, not really sure whether he was asking Korim or Aria. But his frail voice was lost in the wind, which was whipping Rylie’s fur, blowing hard from the north, right up over the mountainside. Kyle shivered and sank back behind the ruff of fur around Rylie’s neck and digging his pale, bare arms into the fur. (Now that I think about it, it’s weird Kyle doesn’t have winter clothes, considering he came to Borealis on a winter day in the woods. Maybe he couldn’t find anything in his size so Rylie is basically his winter coat.)

Korim ran quickly to the ridge that Hannah was on, obviously pleased at having lead them right, despite his questionably uncanny ability to do so. He cradled the unicorn horn gently in his hands, and it wasn’t heavy, , but his care made hampered his scampering ability “You are correct! There is our destination.” He pointed to the houses.

Cam wondered if Hannah was allergic to yelling.
