The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

“Yes,” Korim said, leaning over him. Then he asked a rhetorical question. “But did you really win?” He delicately blew on his soup and sipped it out of his spoon.
Take opened his eyes and sniffled, “Heh, hell yeah.” he grinned weakly when he saw Korim still eating. He sat up and stared into his empty bowl, “Man that was the spiciest food I’ve ever had..” he murmured, setting the bowl on the tray Korim was carrying earlier.

Kevin peered down at the different types of soups, listening to Korim as he read each label. He loved spicy food, and if he was back home he would’ve chose it in a heartbeat, but since he didn’t know how spicy it would be and since there probably wouldn’t be any toilets on their journey, he decided he didn’t want to risk it.
“That one,” he said, pointing to the non-spicy meat stew. He felt strange not paying for his share, but the only thing he collected from the dragon cave was the golden wedding ring, something he selfishly didn’t want to give up.
As they walked to the ally, Kevin grabbed his bowl, sitting down near the back of the group. He fished out a few of the strange looking vegetables and slowly blew on them. Once they were no longer hot, he dropped the veggies into his bag, a small smile tugging at his lips as Mama happily clucked, breaking them into smaller pieces for her chicks. “There you go.” He cooed, stroking her gray neck feathers.
Kevin looked up, examining the group. It looked like a few people were missing, but before he could realize who, his attention got caught on Take and Korim, both of whom were chugging the spicy stew. He laughed, taking joy in their self-induced suffering. Their tear streaked faces made him glad he chose the mild stew. Looking away, he focused on his own bowl, occasionally dropping more vegetables into his bag.

Kipp scooted closer to Kevin, getting up to crouch-walk over to him, he wasn't far away. He'd eaten about half of his bowl of vegetable stew, and been in his own little world for a while, watching the different members of the group.

"Your chickens are all still alive. That's pretty impressive." He said smiling as he sat next to him. Trying his hardest to pretend he was completely comfortable striking up a conversation.

Kevin looked at Kipp as he approached, giving him a small nod. As he spoke, Kevin beamed at him, his smile reaching his eyes and crinkling the corners.
“Thank you!” He said happily, proud of himself for keeping them alive for so long. Even with his healing abilities, he was sure they would’ve died on the first day.
He sat his bowl down and pulled out a black chick, offering it to Kipp. “Want to hold it?”

Nat, meanwhile, took this golden opportunity to absolutely lose it.
This was great.
Just absolutely great.
The company.
The outfits.
The weapons.
The kids saying the darndest things.
She didn't know what to start with.

Also, it was probably long past the half-hour-passenger-interchange mark but who was counting? She had definitely grown attached to Noah. And Alex had long ago faded into nothingness.
...actually the matter of another absentee child probably should be addressed at some point.
(So now Alex is missing? Greaaaat. Stop getting lost kids. Stick together or the we-sa will get you.)
Blair rolled her eyes at Korim's comment, giving a half-hearted sneer in his direction. She didn't appreciate being called foolish. "Missing a child...?" She glanced around quickly, counting the group's younger kids as fast as she could. Noah, Torin, Emma...wait, no Emma. Where's Emma? And that other kid?
She turned abruptly, about to call the girls name when she saw Kit herding the little blonde towards her. Heaving a sigh of relief, she swept up the girl, mentally scolding herself. "This is why I can't be trusted with children." She muttered, petting Kit gently. "Where's that other kid though? Charlie's brother?" She turned to Hana, keeping her voice low. No sense in panicking the group...
Blair kept glancing around the group, but she couldn't see, smell or hear the boy. Possibly due to all the people around, but it gave her a strange feeling. She could normally pinpoint any persons scent she wanted, no matter how large of a group. At the mention of roasted meat, she turned her head, looking at the odd looking meat stacked on top of each other. She curled her lip at the thought of having to eat more meat, and ignored the question, instead breaking off from Hana in search of Alex.
Sarah has officially and entirely lost track of where everyone is at the moment, but Nat suddenly took the initiative to seek out Noah in the throng of overtired, underfed, and just plain angsty subadults. "Yo, my daring dude," she whispered discretely, even going so far to only use a fraction of an inch of her mouth to expel the words. "Not to involve the old grouches, but, like, when did we actually last see Alex?"
Blair made her way through the Rugæ market, ignoring the stares she got. Her senses were working on overdrive, trying to detect any scent of the boy or any movement. It was difficult, because she didn't want to stray too far in fear of the we-sa. I should have brought Hana or someone with me...
She could handle herself, but if the we-sa came out of nowhere, she didn't know if she could fight back. "Damn it, come on, Alex. Where are you?"
(@RoostersAreAwesome hi :p)
When a bunch of angry people with spears approached the group and surrounded them like they were loose chickens to be corralled, Charlie had to make a decision.
Did he stay with the group, risking capture or worse? Even if nothing bad happened, it was better to be safe. Those spears were really close. And pointy.
So, Charlie did what others would consider impulsive, but he just considered normal. He grabbed his brother. (Who had been following him around and generally annoying him for most of the journey.) He then looked around for Maya, but couldn’t spot her in the crowd. He muttered something slightly less innocent than ‘dangit’ and went invisible. He slipped between two spear-bearing men, dragging an also-invisible Alex along after him. Now he would just have to wait and see, and hope that Maya and the others didn’t get skewered.
Alex was too tired to protest much as they crept around the establishment. Eventually, Charlie figured out that he had lost sight of the place the others had gone into. He looked around, getting more uneasy as he only spotted unfamiliar buildings and fields. He was able to locate what looked like a marketplace, and started heading towards back towards where he thought the others were. He wasn’t aware that they had all departed and were now in the very marketplace that he was exiting.

(sorry for being gone. I have no excuses. XD)

Kipp's eyebrows shot up in surprise, he'd never held a chicken before and had no idea how.
"Really? Ok." He set his food down cupping his clumsy city-kid hands together to take the chick.

Korim calmly sipped his stew. It was far more tolerable when taken in little sips. Still, he wished for tambree milk, and brightened when he saw a milk stand set cleverly next to the stand that sold the spicy soup. When he approached he saw it was run by a young man that looked quite a lot like the lady with the soup. The cups of milk were pretty overpriced. Probably a little brother capitalizing off of his sister’s success.
He bought a cup for himself and Take, handed the cup to Take, and went back to his soup.

Kevin placed the squirming chick in Kipp’s hands, guiding his hands in place as he spoke. “Left hand supports his feet, your right hand goes over his back, securing his wings,” he instructed. “See? It’s easy!” He grinned, pulling his own hands away.

Blair was getting fed up with searching for the child by herself. She spun, making her way back towards the group, but kept a look out for Alex. A movement out of the corner of her eye made her pause. There was no person walking, but she heard the distinct settling of footsteps on crunchy grass, and saw the grass deflate. Under what looked like two pairs of feet.
She crept closer, raising a brow. Didn't the Charlie kid turn invisible? "Charlie?"
