I think I was meant to be a snowy mountains kid. I really want to live there.

School camp was not cancelled instead they are sending us on the camping trip in the middle of winter.

I've never done "school camp" what is it exactly?

Basically you have to go on a camp where you sleep in cabins and do activities like rock climbing ect and it is mandatory to go. The food is crap, the cabins always end in fights ect

Me too Sam, me too. Actually though. The only mountains I’ve ever seen were the Smoky Mountains (in Appalachia) and even those I didn’t get to climb. I really want to see and climb the lofty snow-topped type. But *draws in breath* this year, that will all change. I will GO to the Rockies and climb them. Or if not on the way to Yellowstone where I’m going, in a year I will go on the “Out West” backpacking trip and then I will climb on them, sleep on them, and do lots of things on them. Well, it’s not always on the Rockies, it’s sometimes in the Grand Tetons. But I WILL FIND A WAY.

That actually sounds like FUN. I wish our school had an overnight camp. Then again, the camp food has always been BLESSED and delicious so maybe it would be different then.
Even freeze dried food on the backpacking trips is delicious. Maybe that’s because you’re extra hungry but I actually love it. It’s nothing like camp food, but somehow better than normal.

Butter, your camp experience honestly sounds like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid version. My brother had a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book where Greg went to school camp and it actually sounded like your description.

Lol. I’m sure it would sound like that. I’m totally moving to the USA if they don’t do those camps in school
