Most of the group fell silent after Take and Blair started fighting, and with out any real agreement, they'd all started walking again, hiking up the mountain despite the warning that the griffin brought.

Kipp wondered if Take hadn't thrown the message bottle away, they might have been able to send their own letter back. Maybe instead of hiking the whole way there, they could have gotten the Rugae to send a whole bunch of griffins and they could have gotten a ride. They were after all, only looking for help. But he had thrown it, and now they were walking, and walking, and walking.
