The History of 'APRONS'

chickfillhay ~ I'm the same age and, like you, adore the retro things! My dh jokingly calls me "Mrs Cunnhingham" after the mom on "Happy Days" tv series. I swear I was born in the wrong decade. lol

OMG! My twin sister and I say the same thing all the time!!!The only thing we don't like about the past is the higene thing. Other than that this is not our era. Although I did love the 80's!

AN APRON SWAP!!! OMG I WOULD SO JOIN!!! Do you want to host(if not, I gladly would!)???

Do we need to get Rob's 'OK' first?

I have two aprons. Just made sense to have them. Heck, my mom and my daughter have matching aprons.

If I ever learn how to sew I plan on making them to sell on my website.

That would be a lot of fun especially if they were homemade; it would be fun to see how many different designs that people could come up with.

I have two aprons that I used to wear over my work clothes before I retired but they are old and worn out; nobody would want those old things. Now I just wear a mans over sized pocket tee shirt and a pair of jeans around the house. The older and more stained up they get the more character they have.

DH and I were around back in the 50's and we still love the retro stuff. DH found an old 50’s teak wood table, chairs and hutch in an old resale shop he stopped in on his way home from work one day last year. He got them for a song and brought them home as a surprise. A couple of months later he brought home a bakers rack that he found in another old resale shop and it matches the table and chairs.

I really love the bakers rack, it's so nice to have all my cake pans and such close at hand.

I'd LOVE to participate in a swap if someone could point me in the direction of some nice handy and pretty apron patterns
