I moved my swarm trap bees into a hive yesterday . Small swarm . I saw the queen . Since the swarm was small I think feral bees in a tree is the source . Sometimes they are in a small cavity = small colony .

Are your southern winters short and warm enough to bring a small colony through?

Probably not . I will see what needs to be done in the fall . Might have to pinch the queen and combine resources with the other hive . Feeding is another option .

If you zoom in you can see the eggs in all(?) (most) of these pictures. I know I for sure saw 1 cell that had 2 eggs and quite a few cells where I think the eggs are not in the center.

Not sure if it could be attributed to a new, young queen or if I have a laying worker bee.
Please take a look and let me know what you think. Also if you spot the Queen let me know that too!

Sorry if some of them don’t show anything useful. I’m still trying to figure out angles, holding the frames and touching the button in my phone to take the picture!

I've had a queen right hive where a queen laid more than one egg in a cell because there weren't any other empty cells.

I love playing “where’s Queeny” It is way more fun than Finding Waldo.

I think I circled her in the next two photos she could be within the purple circle, I could be wrong on the first one, but I am sure the second circle has her in it.
