The Honey Factory

I just heard from my bee mentor and she thinks the hive is Queen right!! 🥰 She said a worker layer isn’t able to put the egg all the way at the bottom ( because their butt isn’t long enough)! So she thinks it is just an inexperienced Queen.

Do any of you have Saskaritz bees ? Are they as good as they claim ?
I got my first Saskatraz bees in April. It has been a very bad year here for blooms. The Saskatraz hive is capping honey in the first super. I will not make any decisions about them until harvest time and whether or not they survive the winter.

Both my hives are saskatraz. The jeweled queens hive just grows and grows.

We are back at 60 degree nights and I still have thousands of bees bearding at the door and the vents. This was a Nuc.

The first queen I got with the package started out good them struggled. When the hive replaced her they have really grown in numbers. We will see in a few weeks if I have any honey.

They seem busy but with this never ending drought I am not sure I can blame lack of honey on the bees. I assume they are in the swamp gathering now as it’s the only wet place around.

I am going to try and winter them, somehow. They have not been aggressive other than that one little buggar.

I have not seen any sign of mites , yet.

I don't think so. :lau If she did, she didn't tell me. I think I will try to see if she has time to stop by next week ( I'm too busy this week!) and see if she can find her. Right now there are only about 3 frames of bees, so I think it shouldn't be too hard for someone with experience.
