The Honey Factory

If your first super is 75% or more full, I would not waste any time getting another super on there.
I know, but my rescue ducklings have other ideas, so have the weeds in the yard… 🤷🏻‍♂️ - I will take the tools and the super-parts to the duck-yard and assemble it there while the little ones meet the flock. Then i have to lock them away while dealing with some super aggressive bees.

Mann lake super kits come with rite cell foundation. It's excellent stuff, well coated with wax and deep cells. I use a lot of rite cell in the brood chambers and it's what I cut in half for open frame ends the bees draw drone comb in. For honey supers I use Permadent foundaiton from Mann Lake. It's less expensive and comes in a case of 150 sheets. Plenty of wax and though flimsy works well in medium frames.

I'll be doing an early extraction just to get the drawn comb back. My nuc stacks are four high with the top box plugged with honey. Summac has yet to bloom here. Black Locust finished this past week and dutch clover came into bloom.

After the cool start this spring it's been an excellent year for drawing comb. I thought comb was going to be the bottle neck of expansion but it's turned to being grafting. Have had issues there and changed up my method of cell starter/finisher. Only a two weeks left in this area and need to get many more queens started.
