Oh my lord. This thread is a gold mine! Tbh, most of my plants are outside atm since its warm enough, and I give away a third of my garden as I rotate plants through. But I'll show off my permanent ones! Also, a long post is incoming.
First! Is my strawberry pear dragon fruit! And what is most likely the stem of @Emily_loveschickens moon cactus.
It is now 3 years old, and the parasitic cactus on top has long since died.
This is what it looked like after the top piece came off and it started branching.
The rest is history! I make cuttings of this plant every year, to control growth and bc it's so much fun! I have one left (that is spoken for).
This was cut at some point in the summer, and the third section on top has all grown since it's been cut! Gah, It's so prolific and fun.
The last pic of this plant, I promise. Can you tell it's my favorite? This is a 2-year-old cutting of it. Just got moved outside this summer to get more sun and it's put on branches like crazy.
Next! This is my Zebra plant? I'm not experienced with big leafy guys. And it is so needy!
So you can see how nice and green it was when I first got it...and how it looks now lol. But I love it all the same. Dramatic jerk.
Classic money tree! It was braided, but I separated them and let it grow out. It's like a little forest.
Pregnant onion! Do yourself a favor and google it if you're not familiar. GORGEOUS. Mines still a baby.
A big baby though. And my cat ate some of the leaves -.- So it got a new stand.
A snake plant I was gifted. I am having a hard time making myself love it tbh. I want the whale's tongue variety still, this one just isn't doing it for me. But it was a gift, so it gets a spot on a stand too. How do I make the leaf tips not sad???? Help me.
I'm a sucker for texture. I had a Lamb's Plant pass this summer as a result of poor watering during a heatwave. RIP. So I got this Vicks plant to replace it! Too cute! And yea, it smells like Vicks.
A seasonally indoor plant? My prickly pear cutting from a friend a few states over. It has new growth finally! How exciting!
And now, to wrap this up, a series of pics about my carnivorous plant terrariums. I have a red Lack Luck tropical pitcher plant and one that I haven't figured out yet. They both have their own jar.
This is the Lady Luck, though she is still recovering from my learning curve about their care.
This is how she looked when she was healthy!
You can see one of the Isopods (Rolly Pollys) here! In the top left leaf gap, 11 O'clock. The terrariums are self-containing ecosystems, so they have a water cycle and detritivores.
This is the second jar, in which you can see the water reservoir at the bottom (black). Followed by a carbon filter layer, cheesecloth, moss "soil", and then the plants.
I've had this plant longer, so it's already recovered from my blunders and developing several young new pitchers!
Sorry for the huge post. Thanks for reading though.
