They kill all those pesky mosquitoes though! Well you aren’t supposed to run around petting the damn things.

Mosquitoes are necessary. So many useful fish and birds prey on them.

Also we all know the dangers of global warming, well, mosquitoes help with that. They team up with malaria, bird influenzas, and heart warm to remove evil humans that are causing global warming.

I am thinking I will have you towing the snowflake tree hugging line before Christmas, you seem so eager to learn and ask all the right questions.

have not gone fishing lately due to fact its been like -30c past while (-22f for you guys south of the border)

Put on the insulated big boy pants and head out there.

I am going to go next week in the -20 plus temps, if the wind is not blowing too hard.

I plan to sit in my ice house with a few burning tires for warmth.

I don’t know about all that. The cold ain’t the issue it’s the boredom of staring at a tip up or down into a hole for hours on end. Similar to digging a ditch.

I was just thinking. Instead of tying feathers to hooks to look like bugs, why doesn’t someone not come up here and catch our 1”-3” mosquitoes and tie them to a hook for fly fishing?

They could be harmlessly tied to the hook, then allowed to feed on the hook tiers blood to keep alive until they are used for fishing,

No more roosters would have to die to make flys!

If you skin the rooster carefully they’ll be fine but could benefit from one of those fancy flower print saddles.

I just ordered a couple hundred bucks worth of plastic, tungsten and bait balls, because I want to be like you and not kill real bugs.

And because it’s possible the oil used to make the plastic could become extinct.

I hope the crappies like anise flavored plastic.

Anyone here ever made fly lures with bucktail? I've got a bunch of Whitetail tails put up and haven't sold them yet, so was debating trying to make something myself with them.

I'm walking around at work thinking about other stuff than work.... started thinking about unusual stuff to tie flies. Human hair! Then imagining walking around in public seeing all the different hair.... curly, straight, wavy, blonde, black, oh that redhead would make a nice teaser tip..... excuse me miss. This is kind of an odd question but can I have some of your hair? Just a little snip. Lol

Real bugs don’t stay on the hook very well. Besides it’s an art!!!! imported rubber lizards from China just don’t do it for me.
