I have an order that shipped from Ideal today. They're not my favorite hatchery, and I won't order bantams or anything delicate from them as it's a long trip, but they're the only place to get some of the things I want and their last minute deals can't be beat.
I'm expecting;
4 lavender guineas
4 pied guineas
10 assorted Cochins - these, I got a call this morning to let me know that right now they're only hatching out black and blue Cochins, and all they had for the assortment was black, which is fine with me. I just wanted big, fluffy chickens and they were on sale.

This is the smallest order I've ever made from them. The biggest was 150. I have never gotten an extra chick from them, no matter the order, lets see if this time breaks the streak or if they just never do that.

I have an order of 10 white holland poults from ideal to arrive the week of 7/6. They had a lower minimum number of turkeys to order and I only have one white holland now so I did need to get more before this year’s turkey laying season ends.

Looking to add some strong egg layers, and 3 fun breeds (Delaware, Olive Egger & Blue Cuckoo). Will update when the arrive to share how long it took and hopefully that they all arrived safely.

How is your son's standard cochin doing this summer? Do you have any pictures of her? She was from ideal, right?

I called them yesterday since I had tracking in Austin TX Tue night and no update after that. The woman sounded frustrated (not with me, with usps), and said a lot of people have been calling because they are not scanning the boxes as they should, and if it left Austin Tue night typically they’ve been arriving Thurs morning & to call this afternoon if it hasn’t. So I’m going to have faith that someone was just scanning incompetent lol. If they arrive this morning they should be fine.
