Thanks, Cali!! I do love this incubator! He asked me ahead of time what I didn't like about my old hovabator. I had a long list! The little doors were his idea. I had never seen any so didn't even think about how handy they would be. I use them constantly during lock down.Wow, that is beautiful, Peepsblessed! I LOVE the picture window and side door! And, you are absolutely right about "your husband not being stressed because YOU aren't stressed!" The first time I incubated, my whole family was a nervous wreck for 3 weeks because I was a mess!![]()
I was using an old Brower with very inconsistant temps and a window the size of a silver dollar (LOL) so it really prepared me for future hatches. I guess it was like incubating "boot camp"! I'm really doing better since I got my own incubator and have had some good hatch rates.
He purchased some heating rods that had been used to heat liquids in a lab. There are four of them, two on each side that are a bout 10" long. He found them used on ebay. The nice thing is that if one goes out, it doesn't quit working. You said that the light is just a 13 watt light, and is not used for heating. Well, what is heating this incubator. I have looked through your first post, and inspected the incubator to the best of my ability, and I can still not find what is heating this incubator.
He's the best!!What a great custom design! You are lucky to have such a handy husband...
