Unfortunately this is not an Australorp! I wish it was though! I would like some more blue's!

Is that your only chick that hatched I love the stuffy in w/ it!!! My mom is bottle feeding an abandoned kitten right now and has him surrounded by the kids extra stuffed animals he wrestles w/ them now lol

I have 19 out of 37 still in the bator day 10 all are looking great but that's my biggest fear only having one pop out this is my start to my new flock since I moved.... So of course I have another 30+ eggs on the way and another incubator just to cover all my bases lol. My fiancé is going to take away my chicken privileges soon he's building my coop and DOES NOT appreciate chicken math!

I over selpt today and didnt check on my incubator in time. Usually during the day time i have to open 2 holes to keep the temp stable.
It got to 106! Ouchies! But everyone is still alive and moving. So thats great news. I was worried. I thought i lost them! I think i will buy an incubator for my next hatch instead of this one i made

Well I was using just my small Brinsea and the stupid thing wasn't calibrated right got up to 107 + by the time I realized too late! I'm glad yours r ok it wasn't too long mine was a cpl of days. I had bought just a cheap incubator... Might as well fill it up lol. Actually wasn't planning on that many but 2 of my 3 orders were dbl which was awesome since I botched up about over 10 w/ my stupid human tricks lol and my mom still has my old flock and they used to run free which was awesome 13 acres until a jerk fox decided he would take 2-3 at a time which was great w/ the naughty roosters but he kept coming for more even w/ her dogs out it sucked!!!

Awe man! Yeah when i got my young chickens, my mom kicked the older ones out of the coop, because wendidnt know if they would get along. They always wanted to go back in at night so it was really sad when something jumped the fence and killed one, and pulled the tail feathers out of another after that they went in the coop with the others and were fine...

Awe man yeah i cant imagine theyve made it if theres no movement. I was in denial for a few days when mine died. And i didnt want to throw it out. It was heartbreaking because it was such a developed chick!

I still have 5 eggs left. And can see movement in all but one is too dark to see. Lock down tomorrow for my one due on the 18th. I stopped turning this morning. I gave it a look tonight and its still moving! So i hope i get a baby out of this one.

My moms friend told me that when incubating, your lucky to get a 50% hatch rate.
How do you guys feel about that? Experience wise, have you usually done better than 50%?
