Yep, same here.

Got a new BCM layer yesterday! Bout time. Her spray gun is still a little clogged too, but look how dark those speckles are!

And I'm getting a new roof on my house, the guy that owns the company is an old family friend, so I offered some eggs to the crew. Of course, they all wanted some, so I cleaned and packed 7.5 dozen eggs this morning! Whew!

Yep, the Marans eggs are looking much better these days. And I think I’m up to 3 layers. Yeah! Lol

But my CLs.... they are laying great, but I put 7 eggs under a cochin broody 10 days ago and only 2 are fertile.
So I put another 7 under another broody today! . Hopefully my boy is hitting the mark better.

Oh oh I have another question. @aart you weigh eggs, right? Well I sold some CL eggs (very cheaply, being untested pullet eggs) and the buyer (another member here) laughed (literally) at how small the eggs were. She thought they were bantams! I felt horrible, because although they seemed small to me, I had nothing to compare to! So how long does it take them to get full size? They’ve been laying for several weeks now, and are still fairly small.

My CCL eggs are pretty small too, I haven't been weighing them...could later if you want.
Sold as hatching eggs?
Even CCL hens eggs are not huge, don't have any of those to weigh as she's molting.

I had a double yolk that was over 60 grams, but usually they are around 50 grams I think. I need to weigh some more myself. Lol

The 3 CCL pullet eggs I got yesterday(all 3 laid, yay!) are 43, 47, and 50 grams.
They've been laying for 4-5 weeks.
Are you selling these as hatching eggs, @WVduckchick ?

Interesting. She said hers were almost double the size of mine. And yes, for hatching, but she also bought some bantam cochin eggs. I’m not advertising any for sale yet.

Pics on a scale only way to prove that, or side by side......and were birds same age?
