The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Im trying to figure out if my 2 part pekins have KC in them. Varia is in my avatar with my little wild drake

Heres both Varia and Ephinny. I know they are 'part' pekins but I have no idea what the 'part' is. I picked Varia specifically because she looks like she has the wild breed in her and I thought she would cross well with my drake. He adores her but she is 3 times his size so Im not sure the 'part' in her is pacific black..

This duckling in the foreground I believe is the offspring of Varia and my drake....Its huge and the very firm mask that I thought marked it as Wist's baby is now fading. Im not so sure of anything anymore!

BTW my other two boys are calls white and grey

Can anyone recommend a solid breeder for these lovely birds? I just expanded my chicken flock with geese and I'm thinking of going crazy and getting g ducks too! Looking for someone who specifically focuses on egg production with this breed. Are y'all getting the fabled 300+ eggs from your girls?

Hello, I purchased a trio of khaki campbells as well as a trio of mallards a week ago Monday. I was told that they were laying before I bought them, most of them are last years hatch. I was just wondering how soon they will start laying again. They are with my flock of ducks and chickens and seem to be very happy, but nothing yet.

I don't know about mallards but I have Khaki Campbells and they lay like it was their religion. It could be that they are still adjusting. Just give it time.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I'm just being a impatient as I just got a new incubator and can't wait to fire it up.

Good luck with any hatching efforts. Khaki's are prolific egg layers and the drakes are not shy about doing their duty so you might do very well. Besides my Khaki's (who are just for eggs to eat) I have a flock of 16 Cayugas that are to be a breeding flock. One of them has begun to lay but there has been no breeding. In fact my two drakes seem to want to be the masters of the house but have shown no interest beyond that. But, it is early and they are still young. I am hoping they will do all the work themselves but I do have an incubator if it comes to that.

So last spring I hatched 7 Khakis from eggs I got online, which I would say was good since I got 8 eggs. Anyway, all but 1 were drakes.
I ended up just keeping a drake and a hen, and re-homing the others. I HATED the Khaki hen. She was so stinking noisy! Made a huge ruckus all the time, and got all the rest of my birds riled up and making noise too! Drove me insane. Needless to say, I just have one khaki drake now, and he has taken a liking to my Pekin hen.
My question for you veterans of Khakis, is it normal for females to be so noisy? I really like the appeal of the eggs Khakis can lay, but I'm not willing to try my hand at more if I am going to end up with a ton of screaming ladies.
I do have acreage and don't have to worry about complaining neighbors, but I don't wanna deal with it. I swear she was ten times worse than my roo's.

My Khakis were all hatched this spring, and by late summer/August they began laying. I can think of only a few days from then until now that I did not get an egg a day from them. As far as breeders, I got mine locally from a lady that raises them. You might check Craigslist (that's where I found her). I prefer that over ordering from a hatchery, but I think Metzger's has these birds. Good luck!

Could someone please help my Campbell just recently went broody and is sitting on 13 eggs I want her to hatch them but I'm not sure what to do and since it's rare I can't exactly find that much online
