The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Pics
Hello everyone, I hatched Khaki Campbells , they were born 11/11/2013. Could you help me find out if they are ducks or drakes. Thank...

The males will get a little curl on their back near their bottom. They also have a husky quack where the gals are definitely much louder. Go figure.

The pictures are a little too far away to tell but I also agree they are probably a little too young still to tell. Males usually get a yellow bill, mine does anyway. Where the females bills usually stay slate/bluish in color with a dark bean at the tip. Both my female and male have orange feet so I wouldn't go solely off that. Also, I have learned that there are dark and light khaki campbells. Yours look like they may be dark, but again they are young still so they may lighten up a bit. I'm new to KC ducks this year so I'm just going off of what people have told me, what I've read, and what I've learned from mine. But I believe someone posted this a while back about bean and bill color when determining...

"Sight Sexing Ducklings! (for Khaki Campbell's only)
There are 2 kinds of Khaki Campbells. Light and Dark.

The Darker Khaki's are a darker shade of khaki brown. The Light Khaki's are a lighter shade of khaki brown.

Now comes the interesting part, you have to look at the bean on the end of the bill. The adult males have a darker bean then the rest of their bill. The adult females have a bean that is very close to the color of the bill.

You won't be able notice the difference until 4 to 6 weeks of age. As they grow you will see a gradual change as the color deepens. Then one day it will be just as plain as the bean on there bill :)

Here are the adult bill and bean colors:
-Dark Khaki Campbell Drakes has a bluish green bill and black bean.
-Light Khaki Campbell Drakes has a yellow bill and a medium brown bean.
-Dark Khaki Campbell Hens has a slate gray bill and bean.
-Light Khaki Campbell Hens has a slate gray bill and carmel colored bean.
-I have one Lighter Khaki Campbell Hen who dosen't quit fit the standard, she has a medim brown bill and a carmel colored bean. She's very cute and sweet.

Another difference between a male and a female duckling is at 5 to 8 weeks of age. When the male's head and the neck become a shade or two darker then the body feathers. The female feathers are a uniform shade of brown.

A male is about 20% larger then a female.

Now if you think you have a good ear, the voice of a young male is different from a female. As adults the male has a raspy voice, in younger males you can sense that raspy sounding voice. But, it is a challange to detect it. In females the voice is a clear quack and in the young females it sounds like a squeeky toy.

Now, this won't work for most other breeds of ducks, because the bean may not be darker in the adults"

This actually worked on my khaki campbells in determining if they were male or female. You can see from left to right clockwise, Drake, Drake, Hen, Drake

This is my what my drake looks like now.

Here is my drake and his five girls. None of the girls ever got orange feet and all of them have the slate colored bills. There are two girls that act as the "spokesducks" for the flock, usually quacking quite loudly when it is mealtime, when I pull in the driveway and get out of the truck, or when a critter they don't like gets too close such as barn cats from the neighbor's.

Just gat an incubator but my khaki Campbell hens are in a pen with my runner hen and drake. I put the eggs in the incubator anyway just to try a test run. They seem to be doing well. What can I expect to get what will khaki runners look like?

My girl Ducky and her friends! She is almost 1yr old!
