So being around here I do raise Chickens. I have 7 hens and they all molted at the same time this late fall so I have been buying eggs for about 2 months. Just got 3 laid yesterday so hopefully they are picking back up. I have read that these khaki ducks produce over 300 eggs a year and I am wondering if maybe getting a couple would help fill the egg void when the molt happens or if I should just try to stager the ages of my chickens (which they are but they are all February hatches I think). I have raised some Peking ducks for meat before and I do recall that they were very fond of feed so I got away from them- do the khakis eat as much as the peking and do they make a lot of noise if you only have 2 or 3? Also interested in the advantages/disadvantages of this breed of duck. And how do they grow out for meat production? Thanks
