Opa, you know I love you dearly, but I think you need to defragment that older brain, and read this again.

I have about 2 minutes to pull up a chair and and sit.. It's a little after 1:00 am, and I think I hear the bed calling me.
If I am seeing right ( and I can not be sure of that between bad eyesight to begin with, getting old, being tired and working too much) It looks Like Orp needs a

SOmeday soon, I'll catch up. Or maybe I'll always be trailing behind.

You know what I thought of today?
The scenario- walking out to give the chicks fresh water. Stop at the gate, and think " Whoa, I have no shoes on".
"normal person" would next think " I hope I don't step in poop"
Chicken person thinks " I hope the chickens don't attack my toes".

CHicken person proceeded into the run. Was very thrilled that chickens did NOT attack her toes.
Was not as thrilled when she stepped in a big poop. Luckily, the grass had not yet been mowed, and there was plenty of steps between the coop and the house to wipe it off in the grass.

I must be a normal person. I've done that, and I think, I hope I don't step in poo.

Don't tell my chickens. They think I'm a chicken person. The babies have gotten more cuddly lately. Odd. I thought pterodactyl teens were more aloof. These girls like to sit on me and tuck their head into me, like they're hiding from something. (Big Chickens?) I tried putting Tatertot in the tractor with them for awhile today. It freaked everyone out. No pecking, just pacing and upset noises. They need to get over it. I have a trip coming up this summer. They'll need to be in the coop by then.

So, did you just wipe off your feet, or did you eventually wash them?

Note #34 - What do you want to do just once in your life before you die?

This is silly, I can't think of an answer. Not enough coffee yet this morning maybe? Or because right now I can't get passed wanting to get my house organized, we just had another washing machine flood yesterday, and I haven't gotten organized since the last flood in Oct. Hadn't got the floor replaced or anything yet, good thing now. And some of the new sheetrock got wet again, I hope we don't need to replace it.
So maybe I should say I'd like organizational skills before I die? But, then there might be something better than that to want.

I'm pretty sure organizational skills are on a continuum. Little improvements eventually make for big improvement overall.

It doesn't sound like you should wish for that. It sounds like you should wish for an end to the flooding.

On another topic.....So, are we gonna go to the SC County Fair this year?

(and are there other fairs we should attend before that, like Alameda County, etc.?)

Oh yeah, new washer and dryer. Put that on the bucket list. Go for the front loaders! I bought mine when I moved into this house. I couldn't believe how dry things come out of the washer. I used to hang things on the line (since the dryer came a year after the washer) and they were dry before I got to the other end of the line. Then, added a nice matching gas dryer, and things dried so fast that I never had to wait for the dryer. Even jeans and towels dried in about 30 minutes!
