SNAP Linda, lol...
Like you I used to be out most of the time, hated being in the house, but we had lots of farmland close to the house and a wood, so I spent most of my time either around the horses, haymaking, or climbing trees.
It was a different world then where kids disappeared all day and had adventures, we used to have treks up the mountain, walk to the coast, and enjoy our freedom.
I long for a return to a society like it was then in some ways, then I would not have the problems of noisy kids next door. lol....
Mu house is timber and steel framed so noise carries, and next door have a 52" flat screen TV with a boom box and a stereo. When mummy and daddy go out the son turns up the music, My signal to them that I have had enough is Aerosmith's Nine Lives album played with both speakers up against the wall and I can hear it at the bottom of the garden, lol...... Steven Tyler's scream at the beginning kind of reflects how I feel.
My eldest son is a rock guitarist so I love it, but the neighbours soon learn, and those further away know what is the problem and share my disquiet, but not the disturbance. They don't have a shared wall.
My Maran's have finally started laying and I now get the most beautiful dark brown eggs every morning, just an aside but they are such beauties, and my Black Rocks are breaking all records for the size of their eggs again. Ohhh I love my girls.
