And well, I never did decide what to have for dinner. DH made some stuffing and that was it.
Tonite I will do a better job.
I'll think about it (maybe) while I am at work feeding 500 students breakfast and lunch.
A nice yummy salad does sound good though!
With some of that sourdough bread!

Note #24 - Now, hmm whats for dinner?

Hmm, depends on how I feel this afternoon - in the fridge I have a pork tenderloin, some chicken thighs and a pork shoulder. Since I'll be in and out today, I probably won't make carnitas with the pork shoulder (I prefer the oven to a slow cooker but I don't leave the oven unattended). If I dunk the chicken thighs in buttermilk now, I could bake "fried" chicken this evening (soak in buttermilk for at least 12 hours, then roll in panko crumbs and spices and bake). Pork tenderloin I generally roll in rosemary, thyme, dried lavender and fresh garlic and bake. For the veggie course, I have cauliflower, which I will most likely roast with pine nuts and whole cumin seeds and a few other spices. Also green beans - I have a bit of good pancetta left and some shallots to quick-cook the green beans. Plus lots of salad greens.

Also, woo hoo! I managed to find someone to take my two 5 wk old cockerels! And they aren't even planning to eat them! Now I'm down to 4 chickens, 2 of whom may still turn out to be cockerels. Gotta love those "guaranteed sexed pullets" at my local farm store - never again will I buy from anyone but a reputable breeder who knows their stock. On the 24th I'm headed off to the local chicken swap in Oregon ("local" meaning 3 hours drive each way) to pick up 2 Welsummer pullets. Dearly love some true Ameraucana pullets, but 6 is my coop max if I want to keep 4-5 sq ft per bird.

last night... dinner was a hodge podge of left overs.... with 1 sick kid and the other one thinking about it... what do they care? They don't have their appetites which is highly unusual.... it was pork chops, cottage cheese, fruit cocktail and chicken noodle soup for the youngest.

tonight? still thinkin.....

Gretch, you didn't read the whole FB post. I said it may have been short, but it was delicious!

Next loaf will be better/taller.
Sorry the girls are sick again. That's one thing I don't miss now that my boys are grown. I can get sick from my students, but when my students get sick, I don't have to take care of them.

Wow, we are all eating very well tonight! Pork loins and steak and shrimp! I thawed some leftover pork roast, and am planning to make sweet and sour pork with it. Opa, does that qualify as enough dead animal?

MoSo, if you're going to get that detailed with the menu, then you should be reminded of Debiraymond's BYC rule: "If you talk about food, then you must post the recipe."

Home-made indian food is the best.
