The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

PK, yesterday I spent the day with my dad and stepmom, since my sons are all living so far away now. We went to see the documentary, "Babies" and then had Indian food. It was a great afternoon!

I had a brown and white room when I was a teen. I painted the walls chocolate brown, and had a white fur bedspread. It drove my parents crazy, but it was my cave. I still like rich colors on the walls.

I hope everything is OK with you medical wise, Orp.

Glad you had a nice weekend.

My bedroom is definitely my sanctuary. No mess allowed in there, except maybe a stack of folded laundry that just needs to be put away. I do want to repaint it, maybe this fall - I've already been saying that for two years now. It's a sort of a mauve colour, but I want to paint it a very light smokey blue, so far Valspar has the closest of all the blues I've looked at.

Funny, I had brown walls when I was 15 or so in my bedroom. My mom stapled a pretty brown floral fabric on two walls and the other two walls were brown. I loved it. And I had a burnt orange area rug. You couldn't get any more 70's than that.

Hi Luna! My doc needs to follow up on a test that he didn't like, but I'm sticking my head in the sand til summer. I don't like to have things come along and mess with my life, and of course, they will come along anyway. This is just my way of dealing with things on my terms. Not really a good idea, but I handle things better if I feel like I have some control.

1970's brown and burnt orange! Yessss! I had a little burnt orange shag rug in the shape of a bare foot. You know the ones....

I painted my room here when I first moved in 5 years ago. Then, I worked on everything else in the house. I never got back to my bedroom. It's begging for attention. I still like the color. It's a terra cotta, with a beautiful oriental rug in navy blue and tan with terra cotta accents. I just need to clear the clutter, rearrange a bit, add another dresser and finish painting the ceiling. I have a cool veggie-print landscape that my middle son and I did about 20 years ago that will go above the bed. Better lighting, too! I can see it. I just need to DO it.

I'm afraid it's another summer project.

I'm currently self-taking a math test for the lulz.

A good day for confidence then. PK, Math Whiz Extraordinaire!

I'm about to enter grades for all my chorus kids. I hate doing grades. I also hate when kids skip class, don't work hard and then want a good grade.

Fortunately, most of them work really hard and deserve good grades. I like giving those.

Once I get past my trouble with fraction and negatives, I do deserve that title.

I never got that mindset either. You reap what you sow, ya know?
