My exDH had one of those gas pedals in his 1969 Pontiac LeMans, and a tiny one for the emergency brake. Great times!

I am a teacher also. We get out May 21st, but we have to have grades done by today, the kids can't check out books anymore, and we can't use our laptops, so for the next nine days it is really just babysitting. I LOVE the kids but hate the politics and am currently desperately trying to set up something outside of public education that may not take off, which means I would need to come back in the fall. Currently outside my classroom window they are sandblasting the courtyards which is sending dirt into my room, making it difficult to breathe. I am so stressed that I am throwing up every night before bed and am taking too many anxiety meds.

That's my grim tale of woe. I have other things to add, but that's why I am moping. The snickerdoodle was delicious, and I am enjoying reading all about other people's stuff, good and bad (not enjoying the bad, but you know what I mean!!) on a forum that seems much nicer and more civilized than the others I belong two (two for horses, one for parents). It's nice to see...

We're glad we seem more civilized here. Sometimes it may take a little more effort to express thoughts here because we can't just blurt out the first words that come to our minds and fingers, but cyber manners are really under-rated. Interestingly, the nice people here on BYC, on the occasions when I have been able to meet them, have turned out to be just as nice in person.

sorry to hear things are not so much fun at school right now. hope they get better. My teaching experience is pretty good, but I don't like the end-of-year babysitting aspect either.

So, all this talk about bedrooms has made me tear into mine tonight. I'm trying to vacuum the dust out of every crack and crevice, and move the furniture around. It's got to be better than how it was.

When I get that done, I'm gonna want to paint the ceiling.

I can understand the whole 'civilized' bit, which is also why I'm barely a part of forums. Note to self: NEVER join a religious forum ever again. *shudder*

I myself have been known to be rude online; I sometimes come across as having a "tone" (sometimes intentional, sometimes not), but I really appreciate it when people go out of their way to NOT have that. Makes me want to do better myself.

My bedroom is gritty. We have dogs and horses and lots of dirt, and our bedroom is the last place that gets attention. I keep our master bath clean, but other than that, we usually have too many clothes lying around, and my husband never puts his (clean, folded) laundry away; I have, generally, ten+ books on or by my nightstand, and I apparently leave my shoes in the middle of the room. I want to make it a sanctuary.
