Oh yeah, new washer and dryer. Put that on the bucket list. Go for the front loaders! I bought mine when I moved into this house. I couldn't believe how dry things come out of the washer. I used to hang things on the line (since the dryer came a year after the washer) and they were dry before I got to the other end of the line. Then, added a nice matching gas dryer, and things dried so fast that I never had to wait for the dryer. Even jeans and towels dried in about 30 minutes!
Save your pennies!
Oh yes! I loved my front loader! And yes, they do spin the clothes nearly dry! I had my set for about 10 years. It get used so much though, that based on the average load per week they give you as reference, mine is about 20 years old. And you can stuff big blankets in there and everything!!
Well, I guess it is the water level indicator that keeps acting up, and when it overfills, the door bursts open, and the flood happens. Well, DH informed me yesterday he's always hated the front loader, and that would not happen if it was a top loader. Well, I think that if the water level indicator went out in a top loader, it could still happen. And why when it is draining, that pipes backs up and flows onto the floor instead of the septic, I dunno, we fixed that plumbing and now it did it again. This old house! I've had that happen with top loaders too.
So, I guess I am not going to be the one to pick out the next set. I will leave it up to DH!
And its not helpful for things like this to happen right when I get off work and I will not be earning any money!
All my saved money is for my two months of bills that will still come even though I am off work. Such as house payment and car payment!!
