'betcha we will all agree on blue or blue-green eggs and crests. Maybe the USA could have Crested Legbars in Gold, Cream, Light and pure White varieties... Hmmmm something for everyone.

I like that idea. All those varieties would take years to accomplish but would increase interest for everybody.
Well since I don't have any eggs to weigh I weighed my chickens this past weekend. My approximately three month old CL cockerels are 2lb 6oz, and 2lb 2oz. The pullets are 1lb 14oz and 2lbs even. I think they're going to be smallish, but I have no experience with this breed.

well here's my confession for the night. In the craziness of helping my golden retriever to deliver her puppies, I totally forget about turning the heat lamp on at night for my recently hatched chicks. It was a small hatch so they didn't have enough warmth and temps dropped into the low 60s and I keep them in the barn, when i checked on them this morning all but one CL boy had died and that poor guy was so cold. I immediately warmed him up and put him in with last weeks hatch and he was fine at the end of the day. so mad at myself. It was only 5 chicks but I was so excited to watch them grow out.... glad I have more hatching friday so I won't be able to hit myself in the face too many times between now and then!!

Oh man, that REALLY stinks, so sorry, we have had some awful losses ourselves recently, some our fault some not. All of them still hurt.... At least you saved one! Good luck- hope you have a great hatch on Friday!
