Flaming Chicken--

so sorry. You did everything that you could.

I am driving to Mukilteo this morning to drop off Jacob, Renesmee, Emmett and Rosalee with Tom (4 week old cream legbar chicks). They will be going to join Peeta (a rooster) that I sold to Tom last summer. They willl be living on Whidbey Island.

Can you tell that I live with a Tweener who loves to read? I had no idea that she had named all the chicks after Twilight characters until it came time to decide who stays and who goes!

I still have 2 more pair of chicks and haven't decided whether to keep or to sell. I may see how they grow out before I decide.

Anyone around NC have any CL hatching eggs or chicks to part with. I really just want a few for a CL project. I am particularly looking for a CL rooster or cockeral with the crest. Thanks

So sorry about Melow. I know you were very fond of her. I hope you also find out soon what is targeting your chickens.
JOhn, x200! The photo of all the chickens with the speckled textured wall behind it is very pleasing.
I ended up putting down Norbert my Roo. He improved somewhat on Steroids but when we stopped them he became unbalanced, couldnt lift his head and could hardly walk. I found him lying on his back and on his side and couldn't get back up. I wouldn't be able to breed him. With 5 baby roosters in the growing pen and Arnold the flock leader, it made more sense to cull him than to keep trying to rescue him.
Dang it, sorry about your loss!

nice video....I love the 'sound effects' LOL - beautiful birds too.
I saw that The Fancy Chick (farm website) is working on a Crele orpington project. If I ever win the MegaMillions I'm going to have a chicken barn about 1200 feet long. Maybe I can buy one of those buildings covering a city block in Southern Cal where Howard Hughes used to build jetliners. That ought to handle it.
