What kind of scale does everyone use to weigh there eggs?

OK so here is a random sampling so to speak of the egg weight range of the 16 eggs collected today of the 18 possible all but 2 laid an egg.

For feed, I have been using the Southern States meat bird pellets. This is supplemented by oyster shell free choice. Because of the higher protein content, all my chickens have grown to very good sizes. I still think my CLB pullets/hens are undersized but that appears to be a generic issue.

I have a movable area within 430 feet of electric poultry netting which is moved periodically for fresh forage. Since we have a fox and coyote problem, I have never let them truly free range.

Nice pictures of your eggs! My CLBs usually produce eggs in the 1.6-1.8 ounce range but they are not a year old yet. MY red sex links will be two years old this spring produce huge eggs like your picture. It is not uncommon to get eggs that range from 2.7 to 3.5 ounces from the RSL ladies. LOL- my DW is always fussing at my as to how to know how many eggs to use for recipes. I just pull out the scale and ask how many eggs she needs and then I weigh some eggs and let her know that is the equivalent for what she wants.

Just hatched 4/4 CLs. All boys....sigh. I have 6 more in the bator hoping for some girls!

We use a regular digital kitchen scale to weigh eggs.

What kind of scale does everyone use to weigh there eggs?

No name on mine--you can see the picture above--it is a kitchen scale--Walmart or Bed Bath Beyond; converts to just about any unit of measure with a digital display.

Finally set up the legbar pen! For now I just have the single comb cockerel and the 2 rose comb cockerels all running together with the 9 hens. Figure the males are feisty enough to get all the females bred. The hens were running with an araucana and a faverolle rooster so if the legbars missed any hebs, the mixes should stand out.
Now I just have to wait til the weather warms up so I can list the extra rose comb cockerel for auction/sale and I'll be set for spring!

I'm not sure where it was posted but someone posted a picture of an adult White Legbar Rooster!! Beautiful! If it was you, could you please repost it??? If you know someone who has one or maybe you do, could you please post some pictures???

It was not me but I do have a cockerel that was hatched on October 12. These pictures were taken in January.





He was slow growing but has really picked up the pace and is looking much nicer now.
