The Legbar Thread!

"They cost hundreds of dollars if I recall from my printing days. Yeap... they do"

"Pantone recommends you buy a book every year as light and use can fade the colors in the books."

ROFL I bet at that price they do recommend you buy a new one each year! Good Grief!!!!
I still have mine. But it must be 15 year old. I would not mix ink to match it but would be ok for egg colors LOL. Professionals MUST have ACCURATE PMS books. Customers KNOW what color they want. It is just the cost of doing business. Most printers ORDER inks matched to PMS books.... they have to be the same.

I think they paint chips are the way to go. They really do have a lot of colors. I have a chip sheet from Home Depot that has ALL their colors of paint.

Rinda so sorry you lost some.

hope that you don't loose any more.

X2 very sorry to hear. Hope it gets better from here. I couldn't keep the coop warm enough to keep the water thawed and added a heated bowl and a second heat lamp. I'm pushing the limits of how much electricity I can pull out there I think. I just hope everything stays on between my checking on them.

To DMRippy & Sam, rofl must look pretty over the top for a conversation about a color chart. and it is. Yep, Cream Legbars are Auto-sexing, Blue-egg laying, Crested chickens that haven't been in the U.S.A. very long. They have a strong following among the relatively small, but growing, number of people raising them. Just a few differing points that aren't fully agreed upon. However we all do recognize that our birds have a way to go toward working toward an 'ideal', even if those 'ideals' vary from person to person.

They are very pretty birds even the WRONG ones. And seem to be good layers. I will know more in the spring when my new birds from CJWALDON grow up. I have 2 laying now, one lays soft shell eggs and they don't seem to hatch. I also have another that is growing out so should have a good start in the spring.... especially if I can hatch a few more over the winter. I think that is slim at this point.
