I have horrid luck with shipped eggs and have even had some of my own not all develop. I am new to this and am not sure I want to sell hatching eggs for shipping but if I do how would one go about knowing that the eggs that are being shipped are all fertile?

Sometimes you get a good hatch from shipped eggs, and sometimes you don't. It's a gamble. I've incubated approx. 8 batches of shipped eggs. In each batch there were some that hatched and some that never developed at all.

You will have to get a good incubator and hatch them to see if they are fertile. I highly recommend the octagon 20 from brinsea. For shipped eggs I believe it all depends on how much the eggs move around during shipping. If the air cells get detached during shipping the likelihood of them hatching is very slim. You can candle the eggs with a led flashlight to see it there is air bubbles moving around. That’s why shipping eggs are so unpredictable if you get a bad ship rout with lots of bumps the air sacs will detach.

Here they are! Two didn't make it but the other 7 seem to being doing fine. I ended up with 5 girls and 2 boys from 3 different bloodlines.

Nice!! love the pics. Just wondering how greenfire ships their chicks in such cold weather. Where they shipped with a heat pack? Are the holes of the chick box covered? Thanks
