What does everyone do with their extra chicks?  All I'm trying to do is hatch out whites and I'm starting to have an overload of regular cream legbars.

So why are the white ones desirable? I think the barring is more attractive, personally. Maybe I'm just biased because my little white guy is at that awkward stage. And from that picture, does he look like the white ones you're trying to get?

Since you started hatching your own eggs. How many white chicks have you hatched?

2 so far. I've only hatched about 15 eggs. I have a rooster and just hatched a hen.

They aren't desirable to everyone. I just happen to love the look of a white bird. And looking at my cream legbar rooster, I think he would look beautiful if he was all white. Try getting some close up pictures of him. He does look to be a White Legbar.

I will be selling my extra chicks and apparently I have a waiting list already. I want to grow them out to at least 3 weeks and right now it looks like I will be selling pairs since I don't have an over-abundance of hens.

I checked the two that I hatched out. One hen for sure, she's got a pretty good chipmunk stripe. The other one I'm not sure. Right at the comb looks to be the start of a chipmunk stripe, you can see the point, but it stops on top of the head. So maybe a pair or maybe a couple of hens. Pretty cool.

There's no such thing as "extra" Cream Legbars. LOL What you could do is split your hens to find which is throwing the yellow chicks, so you're only hatching and incubating half the eggs.

Breed any resulting white pullets back to the rooster and any resulting cockerels back to the hen. It should improve the incidence of the white, but would probably be better genetically than just breeding the white siblings together in the long run.

Ha, for me there is extra Cream Legbars. I don't have room to raise anymore then I can. I already have 5 hens growing out. Once the White Legbar roo is grown, I'll move both hens from the Cream legbar roo and place them with the white one. The white hens will go in with the cream legbar rooster along with the growing hens.

Think I might have really lucked out on a white pair. A little harder to tell, but one yellow has a stripe and is a bit darker throughout the body, making her stripe visible all the way down. The other one is only dark on the top of the face and is bright yellow and lighter throughout.

This may end up being a stupid question, but is the Cream Legbar considered a crele?
