The Legbar Thread!

Congrats on the early laying Legbar! That is awesome. I have a CL hen who is about 15 weeks or so. I would love it if I am only 5 months away from blue eggs. WAHOO!!

Pretty sure you will have eggs in 5 months

PS I was pretty confused, trying to do the math on that, when I realized you meant 5 weeks LOL!

I have been wanting a CL. So if any of you need to cull your hatchs, please send me some. I want the blue eggs! I don't care if they are not to standard. I just want blue layers! Let me know! Thanks!

RyeRanch - Your babies did indeed come from the early laying, high production blue line that were first imported by GFF

My chores came to a screeching halt this afternoon when I found - my first Legbar egg! They are just 20 weeks old today. I don't know which one laid it but intend to try out my Critter Cam I got for Christmas to find out who it is. The egg is more of an aqua than blue. It weighs 48 grams (1.69 ounces). Not bad for a very first egg. The other eggs in the picture are SFH (the light ones) and Marans and Wellie (the dark ones).

Congratulatiions!!!

Beautiful color, and a very good size for a first egg. :O)

I may have an extra CL male that just hatched. I would consider selling it if you wanted him. I am not too far from you :)

Congrats to Flying Monkey poop and Anniesmom on your egg laying Cream legbar pullets. Mine are about the same age. I think I'll go have a talk with my girls! Maybe I'll get some eggs soon.

Fingers crossed then...the one who is 15 weeks is frm madam wolf - I think she also has the first lne. The rooster who is her same age is already trying to mate with the other hens. He is knd of hilarious to watch as he tries out his new "skills."
