We finally got home, and a very colorful pink cage sat waiting for me.
The human put me inside.
I sat on the first perch I can find, and calmed my stressed mind.
Suddenly, the human appeared out of nowhere, and said, "Are you happy in there, birdie?"
I flattened my feathers, and stared at her.
"Hmmm... I don't like the name 'Apple' so much," The human said to herself.
I kept staring at her.
"So your new name will be 'Birdie'!" She announced
I dropped to the floor of my cage(that was covered with Barbie stickers), and hopped onto my food bowl.
"Do you like your seeds? I painted them pink!"
I stared at my food. It didn't look too appitizing.
"Why don't you eat, Birdie?" The human sounded concerned.
She opened the cage, and stuck a spray of pink millet in.
I hopped to my perch, and stared at her.
"Eat, Birdie, eat!"
"Don't bother your new bird too much, ok?" Her parent appeared at the door.
"I'm not!" She said innocently.
"Ok, then. And when you're done with whatever you're doing, get to bed.
"All right!"
I continued to stare at her.
"Ok, Birdie, I think you're ready to meet Barbie!" The human sounded excited. She took out a doll wearing a bright pink dress.
I scooted to the other side of my perch, my eyes never leaving that freaky thing.
"You don't like Barbie?" The girl sounded sad, "Well, good night, then. She turned off the lights and left.
I yawned. What a day. I was hungry, but I just won't eat those weird seeds.
Maybe things will be better tomorrow.
