Chapter Twenty Four

I yelled at the humans for a few minutes more before realizing that they weren't going to give me any. So now, they have reduced me to sitting on the floor of my cage with my beak open in a begging way like a chick. The humans could only laugh. They are so annoying sometimes! I sighed and closed my mouth. I tried hopping on my perch again, but I fell off again.
So I hopped onto my water bowl, and took a few sips.
After that, I did the only thing I could, sleep on the bottom of my cage.

~A few hours later~

I woke up. There were no humans in the room. I yawned, and sat there for a few seconds. I was getting really hungry now.
Just then, the door swung open, and the "avian vet" came in, and walked to my cage. Wondering what he wanted now, I scooted to the back of my cage, trying to hide from his huge face hanging over me.
To my surprise, he opened the door to my cage, and took me out.
I immediately straightened my feathers, and looked around nervously.
The human took me to another part of the room, and put me in a tall bucket with paper lining. I glanced around, frightened.
The "vet" took a thing out made of an almost see through material.
I backed away from it.
"Awww, don't worry, little birdie," The human said, "This is good for you."
Holding it, he put the thing in my bucket, right next to me. I stared at it.
There was a mush in the thing.
The human shook it up and down like a budgie feeds another, and pressed it against my beak.
Did he want me to eat that?
I carefully opened my beak, and took it into it. I ate a small beakful. It tastes like millet! I quickly gobbled down the rest.
The human laughed seeing me eat it so quickly.
"Good bird," He said.
He put me back in my cage. I sat on my perch. Why was the world so boring sometimes? I have nothing to do.
I wasn't tired at all, but I closed my eyes anyways.
