Chapter Sixty Four
I stayed with Leaf and Sky for two days, then told them I would go back.
Sky demanded I eat something before I go.
"Really, I'm fine! I can always look for the nearest bird feeder." I argued.
"No you're not! Bird feeders are a dangerous way to get food!"
"But your chicks need food more than I do!"
"We can always find more."
"But there might not be more."
It went on like that until Sky force fed me.
"Happy now?" I chirped right after.
"Very." Sky sounded content.
"So I'll be going. Bye!"
"Bye, Apple!" Sky called.
I took off once again.
A hawk was circling the skies above me.
Uh oh.
I landed on the nearest tree, praying that it didn't see me with it's incredible eyesight.
The hawk plunged down after me.
I took off, knowing that I would never outfly it.
But I had to try.
It was catching up to me. I had to do something.
I didn't know anything about hawks.
The first thing that appeared in my mind was the girl's house. I hadn't flown very far from it yet.
I banged on the windows.
"Let me in!!!" I screamed for my life.
The hawk was less than thirty feet away from my now.
I closed my eyes and waited to die.
