1Happyfamily, it is early to tell with no other info on his lineage, but at first glance he looks like a porcelain d'Uccles - - or a mix of some sort.

Is he aggressive, or just skittish? Looks too young to take much skin off ya!

BTW, if you want buff Orps you might try theswede here on BYC. He and his wife were breeding them down toward MBoro. Super nice folks, and nice birds . . .

Thank you I do think so as well

He's going to really help out my mottled hens and she's not shabby herself.
I agree with Jenski D'Uccle or cross...I'm not surprised as I said he will find what you want..even if he doesn't have it-he will.So wrong to do to new chicken people but he has to sleep at night with his business practices. D'Uccle do have a much different personality than a Silkie and if he sold you sexed bantam...even hatcheries won't sex them-I know mpc makes the claim but...and that little fella in the picture is too young to accurately sex..
Another thought would be to buy 25 hatchery pullets and sell the extra's-you won't have any problem selling pullets..ok that plan often fails-you won't want to sell any 25 hens is a nice number! They would all be the same age and most should be pullets.I would get a few of the ones you know you want and rest a variety pack...you don't know until you have them what you will really like and it's a cheap way to test many breeds.Your not going to get true Ameraucana but Easter Eggers have many good points to them as well.

Oh my...I know I would end up not being able to get rid of the extras. I just don't have a large enough coop for that many

I'll pm theswede about the orpingtons, thanks!

Nice coop..my chickens would like one that pretty. It does need the cracks closed up because of so many things that like to eat chicken

.We have our big birds in non insulated 3 sided shed with coops built on the outside walls and the front is wired closed..and house wrapped in the winter but we add heat..mine are wimpy and proud of it..it's harder to keep them cool enough than hot enough..unless you have leghorns and they don't do well cold.
Anne is right..a second coop works the best then a third

Well, it looks much better in that picture than it does now. The outdoor pen to the right doesn't exist anymore, so I'll be having to rebuild something similar (we moved the coop when we moved and the outdoor pen wasn't mobile)

Think I'll line the interior with plywood, between the studs so that it's right up against the exterior boards (no space for mice)

wow what a cute coop!!!....mine is all rustic an all and city girl is right...I keep adding and adding ....I think I am done now..

But don't look at me - I know nothing, n-o-thing!

Which is why I'm here tonight ~
Thurs will be Day 10 since I gave the girls the first round of Wazine. I believe I'm supposed to go a 2nd day of Wazine on Thurs, right?

So after that dose, do I not eat their eggs for another 14 days?
