The Middle Tennessee Thread

Just picked up a Catahoula pup on 127. He is a little bag of bones. Gave him worker and vacccinated him. Lovely lil guy- did great in the car. Anybody interested let me know. Seems kind of scared of the birds at the moment.

Wormer not worker.

I'd love to see pics, I fell in love with a gorgeous catahoula that I found on petfinder. I tried for 3 days to reach the place that had him. Sadly he was homed.before I reached them. I travel to the chattanooga area every so often for work, if I REALLY like what I see maybe we could work out a meet up.

I get my laptop back tomorrow. Picking up some Orps out by Kingston then I will upload all my pics. He looks like a German shorthaired pointer with black splotches instead of white. Not housebroken. Yet. I am guessing 12 weeks old. Really good and quiet in the crate at night. Trying to put some weight on the little guy.

Thank you but I went yesterday to MsMeower's insanely beautiful farm and picked up a frizzled polish hen and a turken. The frizzle is Phyllis and the turken is Ethel. She has awesome birds! I wanted to take home a black sumatra rooster, too, and she has the most gorgeous frizzled black cochin rooster of all time.....of all time EVER!

I WANT ROOSTERS SO BAD!!!!!!!!
I'm so glad you got your frizzle! I have one of her frizzle Cochins and just recently added a polish frizzle and Sumatra chicks. Still a little early to tell but my polish frizzle really looks like a pullet. The Sumatra is a little younger so I think she'll be a pullet too but it may just be wishful thinking. I love the Sumatra hens. Not as flashy as the roosters but super sweet and very intelligent birds. They're my son's very favorite chickens!

They aren't as flashy but they are gorgeous with their silky, beetle green feathers! I didn't know the sumatras had such a good personality though. I guess because they're so pretty, I assumed they'd be snobby about it. =)

I want one of everything! I have the most diverse flock. No one looks alike at all.

Finally got some pictures of the birds I am going to list for sale if any of you are interest shoot me a PM. Second picture is Exchequer Leghorn young hens, the rest are my BCM flock I am going to let them go to make room for other colors.

In a word...No They lay well, but they lay a med.size egg. The White Leghorns are laying machines of lg eggs and you don't get that from these. The eye candy is worth a lot to me! Donna is working on a project with her Whites to breed some size into the eggs. They compare well with some of the other colored Leghorns as far as rate of lay and size of egg just not the Whites. But hey the Whites are boring ;)

my whites make up for boring with jumbo eggs. lol. I am crossing the whites with the exchequer to improve egg laying all around. my crosses lay almost everyday....hoping eggs size will improve after a molt.
