Is anyone interested in a very mellow cockerel? He is about 5 months old, supposed to be Speckled Sussex, but has some light feathering on his shanks. I got him in Puryear this spring, saw what were supposed to be his parents & both looked just like speckled sussex in a book, clean legged. I brought him inside the other day because he seemed to be struggling with the heat, but when I tried to reintroduce him, my hens (all 1 yr to 9 months old) went for him like they were going to kill him. so, I'm thinking it might be best to rehome him.
If you are interested in a beautiful, laid-back cockerel for a mister to some young pullets, please let me know.
P:S: I have seen a coopers hawk skulking in the trees near my yard too, I'll be interested in the answers to the pinata question!
