Hey guys! I'm looking for a couple silver laced Wyandotte hens! Maybe even a gold or two. Also looking for a pretty good sized group of young roosters to grow out. I'm in the Sparta/Cookeville area so can meet anywhere around there. Let me know what you got. Thanks!!

I will have some gold laced Wyandotte production birds in Feb.
If you are not in a hurry I'd be glad to hatch some for you then.
I am in Kingston.
For roosters to grow out I no longer raise Cornish Cross... they simply are not self sustaining and don't forage well.
We now raise true heritage RIRl... awesome carcass and they forage very well.
We love em. I have about 13 cockerels (along with a bunch of production birds) which we will process when the weather cools. I will take pics of the carcasses for comparison sake.

i have SLW but not right now. I have some growing out and will probably know what I have it anything around Christmas.

I have a ton of roos BUT I have about 3 Roo guys I need to keep supplied. in the spring I will have more.

I run crack corn, oyster shell (haven't bought lately and mine don't need it) and layena omega (same story). Move prolly threw their cycle off. If nothing changes calcium will kick start plus crushed red (hot) pepper flakes (tho this will start a debate bout if it works or not) should help too. Not enough to burn their @$$ but just a touch warm enough. Mix it into cornbread batter

Cayenne pepper improves circulation. Chickens cannot taste hot. I have tried adding it to feed and it seemed to work, but I wait til after the winter solstice to try it. If you have a small flock its good to put some eggs up in the freezer while they are laying well in case you run into an egg drought in the fall.

I got rid of most of my roos but always have more. What age are you looking for and are you buying or just want them donated?

I'd have to argue on them not tasting hot stuff. Ole timers know stuff that science can never explain or even figure to try at first.
