Can anyone tell me what color this silkie would be called? I thought he was black untill this gold brown came in. Is he still black or something else?

We finally bought our own stainless tub plucker.
We are going to offer to local folks for a small daily fee in order to help others in the area be able to process their own chickens.

ok the eng orps I got from Lori are laying really well right now but they are not fertile. I am going to put her hens with my choc roo. trimming everyone first and moving to a bigger pen too.

Amy am I right that if I cross blue with choc I get mauve? going to sell those they are not my goal since they are just eye candy.

Yeah blue x chocolate is mauve. I want to make a splash chocolate...

Off topic here, but thank God I finally found ACV with 'the mother' in stock at the walmart. Took forever for them to have some on a day I went lol. That stuff smells awful, kinda like beer and a slice of apple mixed. A funky, nasty concoction of sorts...

LOL , Glad you found it. Personally I use it as a salad dressing & in other cooking yummy, (yes, I eat Greek yogurt plain, real soured pickles , etc) so to each their own!

I do give a dab of active culture yogurt to new hatched chicks w/ their first crumbles mixed on it to help get their systems primed w/ the good flora just to bring the post back to flock related stuff.
