The young ones _might_ wait to start laying until longer days, like even Feb/March (I had that happen w/ some pullets last year when the fall weather was very overcast, they just waited until spring, it was a terrible disappointment as I had no eggs all winter).TShelton only 2 are molting, the rest are only 7 months old
whereas I have the newest layer who had just started and continued through the cold snap & like I said above just this week in this cold weather her hatchmate&penmate is has now laid 4 days in a row w/ her laying also. So sometimes it is age, timing, light etc, and sometimes I personally think it is just the bird, some lay better in fall/winter than others...
I never heard of them eating any meat other than bugs. Is it safe to try cat food?
