@TinTennessee

Troy, I might take you up on that down the road.  I like my bator and I know how it works, the only problem is it will not fit through doors.  So if I transfer the eggs over to the hatcher while we move it they should be fine.  I think if we take the base off and the walls we can move it no problem.  The trays should come out easy too.

I need to see what else I can use for heating elements.  I have some ideas.  Light bulbs are out now.  I have looked at the incubator kits, we will see.  I have a base to a food dehydrator in the incubator and that works well.  I only use it in the winter.

You could have a nice side business making incubators and hatcher..... I could help.... my son could help with the wiring too.  Just a thought........

I'm not trying to push anything on you, I don't want to be known as " the Pusher " just letting you know I don't mind building it.

that was funny.....

Tony wired up the Hatcher today. so I just have to figure out the details. I bought a little ceramic heater with a fan....going to give that a try with the flex watt. I like having double the heat options incase one goes out totally. I still have to seal up all the exposed wood but then I will give it a whirl.......after Christmas.

still might want a new bator down the road.

I didn't used to get nervous about these storms.... but they scare me to death anymore. Just been in too many close calls I guess. The one that hit maybe a year or less a go at the house in East Nashville was SUPER scary. It is a stone house and you could hear the wall MOANING and the house was really vibrating and my ears were popping..... woke up to trees up rooted all over the place.... BIG trees..... some twisted and snapped off chest high..... they can't tell me that was not a funnel cloud.... may not have touched down but it was LOW to the ground for sure. It did hit in Mt. Juliet after it passed over us.

Then another storm I drove into and it was just about as bad. Finally made it to the farm and 3 huge trees where laying in the drive.... that was pretty bad too. I think the storms are worse or am I just older and more aware than I was when I was an invincible teen LOL. It seemed the storms change after the big tornado that hit down town and east nashville..... or do they televise it too much..... either way I don't like winter storms..... they are the worst.

Wait till I post a picture tomorrow of the tree that fell on my half finished coop!

Merry Christmas and Yuletide Blessings to all, been busy with work during the past few weeks and just got back in from trying to put some venison in the freezer, no luck on that yet but I still have 2 weeks til the season is over. Been busy with our hens as well working on building another coop inside of our barn for them. We currently have 2 coops in there with space for an additional 8, my wife says we can never have enough coops when it comes to chickens (she loves her chickens.)

Donna, I have a few buff pullets left (about a year old). They are only breeder quality though. All are leaking black in their wings. I am NPIP.
PM me if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a trade. :)
