The Middle Tennessee Thread

No not to the chicks I get a 50lb of chick starter 50lb layer crumbles and a bag of whoop em. I mix the layer crumbles and whoop em for my egg layers and my banties. All the free rangers have to beat the neighbors goats for there food in the morning.

I need to look into that some more. I've grown people sprouts, so fodder will be easy, haven't checked fermented grain, but I'm guessing it is along the same lines.

Quote: Growing fodder is the same as for people..... but MORE of it. FF you have to get it going. I think some people use the same water to keep the fermenting going. I just have too many birds for any of that stuff to be practical for me.... one day maybe. Fodder would be more fun.... but the mold thing makes it really hard here I would think.
 
I really want to use sprouts for my chickens in the winter. I would love to see examples of a good larger scale set up. I sprouted some seeds this winter, but with the small container I had, it wasn't worth the effort.
